Haig Avenue is segregated. The away side get part of the stand and the open uncovered terrace behind one of the goals. Marine brought about 700 with them.
The reverse fixture is an evening game on the Tuesday of the Cheltenham Festival. Once the National Hunt Chase is over, I expect will be heading to Rossett Park in Crosby.
My nearest non league team – South Liverpool – sounded like they had a much more exciting game, at least in the second half. 0-0 at half time, The South won 3-2 with a winner in the final minutes.
December 3, 2024 at 17:23 #1714678Stevenage V Northampton
Im loosing the plot,
Cobbs 1-4 away win 1.5@125/1
The Towns Tom Eves first goal scorer 5@11sScorecast, Eves first and 1-4 away 1@650s
-7.5
December 4, 2024 at 15:44 #1714724Amazing: Tom Eves, gets sent off in 28th minute, cobbs concede 2 in 89 and 90 and that puts in the relegation zone.
Not looking forward to Monday now Nene Derby another tonking I expect. And to cap it all, Landafar (number 2) wins at Ludlow..never see it..
December 5, 2024 at 16:13 #1714775New manager for the Nene Derby
December 9, 2024 at 19:34 #1715126No hope for tonight’s Nene Derby..
But
2@4-1 50s
5@17/2 Hoskins first goal

Its the Nene Derby..
December 9, 2024 at 20:44 #1715133Thats – 105
December 10, 2024 at 07:22 #1715153Supper Sammy Hoskins was to kind to McGeehan allowing him the tap in for the first goal.

5@11/2 McGeehan anytime returned 32.5
The Posh should have won, missing a sitter midway through the second half, after which the score may have been 1-3.
As cobbs would have had to chase the game and left gaps at the back. Anyway we are out of the drop zone and looking for a manager, rumours are Robbie Savage is being looked at, but why would he leave Macc for us. Others mentioned are Andy Woodman at Bromley (a former cobber) some non league chaps and Mark Robins..If only we could after what he did at Coventry.-72.5.
December 10, 2024 at 07:57 #1715154A nice return on that investment.

Rearranged FA Trophy action for Southport tonight. If the Sandgrounders can defeat Peterborough Sports, the “reward” is an away tie at Southend on the 4th January. About as long an away trip as possible. Still, I am sure a win tonight will mean more much needed money.
Reading the Southend fan forum last night, they were all talking as if they had already won the game, so it would be good to win tonight and then go down to Roots Hall and stuff them!
December 10, 2024 at 11:12 #1715167I did see you had a Trophy match tonight, hopefully Sports have a nightmare journey up there and dont perform.
Not going to curse that game for you and bet on it.Many years ago on a boxingday we went to Roots Hall with the Cobbs, Buster Bloodvessal was the half time entertainment, not impressed with Southend either. Strangely enough Bad Manners are playing there tomorrow night, not that I have any interest, I had to use google to remember his name. Cant recall if we won or lost either, oh dear.
Brackley away to Scarborough tonight
Brackley are unbeaten in the last six NLN matches, five wins and a draw.
Scarborough one win, two defeats and three draws.2.5@5/s 1-1 correct score.

December 10, 2024 at 22:50 #1715217Well done CAS, is that the second time this season 2 goals in two minutes for the Sand grounders?
Strangely, I was listening to 5 unlive this afternoon, they had a bit about Southport. Apparently, dig down half a metre and you find sand. Thus the name Sand grounders.
All the best for Southend, their in financial trouble, and Jim Bentley is a good manager.
Oh and Brackley lost 2-1..damm
December 10, 2024 at 22:59 #1715218Yes, we were 2-1 down against Scunthorpe and scored twice inside about 90 seconds to win 3-2.
I could not go there tonight but have just had a look at the fan forum. By all accounts we were awful for about 75 minutes but the subs have changed the game.
It will be good to be tested against a National League side next.
Southport are lucky to have Jim. He has made a huge difference since he took over.
December 14, 2024 at 14:15 #1715442I was looking at a Rotherham correct score, then saw BFRED offering 4-1 on a Cobbs win.
Ill take take that 5@4/1 Cobbs win.
Add some Cobbs goal scorers into the mix
Pinnock 2@12/1 first goal
Eves 3@ 10/1 last goal.
Eves was signed from Rotherham during the summer and is on the bench today, players scoring against former clubs is always a good angle.-85
December 14, 2024 at 14:59 #1715448The teams have just taken the field for Southport v Needham Market. A nice, long journey for the visitors at the darkest time of the year!
We need a win today in the last home game before Christmas. 4/1 for Southport to be leading at half time and full time is the bet.
No segregation today, so it is good to have a bit more space!
December 15, 2024 at 03:12 #1715473Amazing Cobbs concede after 3 mins and eventually loose 3-0 at least Eves had 45 mins to try and score the last goal.
Another Nene derby this week away to the Posh in the mickey mouse cup.A pair of Duck eggs for you CAS, id imagine the Needham supporters were a bit thin on the ground, like you say darkest time of year, and a long journey.
A trip to Tromso for me this week, holiday to see the Northern Lights, checking the weather, no much chance as its forcast snow..my luck is great at the moment.
Hopefully the Cobbs have a new manager for next Saturday.
December 15, 2024 at 07:25 #1715474I believe 22 people made the journey from Needham. No wonder there was no segregation!
The total crowd was only around 840, the lowest for a league match this season. I suppose people have other demands on their time just before Christmas.
It was another poor game. Disappointing after such a bright start to the season.
I hope you see the Aurora.
December 17, 2024 at 07:08 #1715579So the trip down to London Road tonight in the EFL Trophy, to play the holders Posh.
No doubt Mr Ferguson will be firing up his lads for this one after last weeks loss to the Cobbs.
Just a token bet.
Posh to win 4-1 2@20’s-87
Someones turned the lights off
