Yes, I had a look at it earlier. They are well rid of him.

He didn’t endear himself to the Southport forum either, giving the Sandgrounders no respect before, during or after the match on 26th April.

Saturday lunch time see KSV1919 take on Stripfing at the Alpine.
KSV1919 have dropped to fifth after tonight’s matches and Stripfing are third from bottom, and in the relegation places.
    Odds are with Fred 13/10 H 12/5 D 13/8 A, KSV’s recent form has been outstanding.
Cant see anything other than a home win and a better price than expected.

Southport have finally announced their new manager. Neil Danns, assistant manager at Tranmere Rovers, has taken on the job.

He has plenty of experience as a player. He was also manager at Macclesfield and got them promoted to the Northern Premier League before he moved to Tranmere.

I am hopeful he proves to be a good appointment. It also seems like the issue of ownership of the club is about to be resolved.

Thats a good appointment CAS, hope that the financials are good for next season, I doubt Brackley will stay in the top tier. Wave on the way past as Southport go up and Brackley go down.

I don’t think there is much chance of the former happening! I would be satisfied with a top half of the table finish as something to build on. The Sandgrounders have not finished in the top half of any league for about 12 years!

It will be tough for Brackley but I think they have a reasonable chance of surviving.

It will be interesting to see how Truro City get on, especially with all the travelling. The round trip to Gateshead is 920 miles!

KSV1919 play on Friday in Austria Bundesliga 2 away against SV Horn.

    Odds Home 6/4 draw 5/2 away 11/8

Horn are in the bottom two, and the Falcons are third.

Away win makes sense at Freds prices.

    18@ 11/8
Correct Score 1-3 to KSV 2 at 14s.

CAS will spred ex do a market on the number of supporters to attend for Truro?

To be honest, I wish them the best and its great to see a Cornish side in the NL. A few years back I was camping down there at Mousehole, and they said they were on a plan to get up the non league pyramid, by using home grown talent. What ever next ..Jersey playing in National League South..
Then the Isle Of Man in National League North..hmm

I will be watching Truro with interest. I have relatives down there and I expect they are all looking forward to the new season.

Mousehole have a team as well. I think they are in the Southern League Division One (Tier 4).

There is an FC Isle Of Man team. It plays in the North West Counties Premier Division (Tier 5), the league which was won by Bury last season. I believe the Manx government pays for all the flights and hotel bills for the visiting teams.

I think they play most of their home games early in the season because of the risk of flights and ferries being cancelled by bad weather in the winter months.

All their home games kick off at 6.30pm to avoid clashing with fixtures in the Isle Of Man domestic league.

I know a few people who went over to watch South Liverpool play there back in March. They all said it was a great trip.

Next year’s non league allocations have been published.

Fylde are relegated into NLN. They are joined by 5 promoted teams: Macclesfield, Telford United, Bedford Town, Worksop Town and Merthyr Town.

As expected, Warrington Town and Rushall Olympic are relegated to the Northern Premier and Needham Market return to the Southern League.

The main talking point is the fate of poor old Farsley Celtic. The FA has refused the club a Tier 1 to 4 licence. Instead, it has been put into Northern Counties League East in Tier 5 – a demotion of three divisions. A sickening end to a dreadful season for the club.

Edit – it turns out the Farsley board requested to be put into Tier 5. I understand their reasons but it is still tough on their supporters.

Thats terrible for Farsley, they tried, but its a tough gig up in the NLN. They are probably right to take the relegation hit and find their new level.
I remember Brackley in the 80’s-90’s struggling to raise a team for the United Counties League in Northants, if one was in the pub on a Saturday the press gang may have got one on the pitch.
Obviously after that it was the Oxfordshire Helenic league, then onwards and up..Due to a mad man backing them.

I still cant believe they are in to the National league, I suspect a massive collapse is coming.
A few old mates who used to go watch Oxford and Northampton, plus some who attended the likes of Chelsea – Man U etc are all united in attending next season.

Attending a match in the Isle of Man would be great for any supporter, thus it would be good for a Jersey or Guernsey to make NLS, but obviously not the Scilly Isles, I believe there league consists of just two teams.
Its football, I believe some of the French South Pacific islands enter the French FA Cup for the early rounds.
Now that would be a great away fixture.. :yahoo:

“A few old mates who used to go watch Oxford and Northampton, plus some who attended the likes of Chelsea – Man U etc are all united in attending next season.”

That might help. Brackley’s average attendance was something like 850 last season, which won’t be enough in the National League. A bit more in the way of gate receipts can’t do any harm. I suppose they can expect a lot more away supporters next season as well.

The Farsley board have taken the understandable decision to play in a local league and cut down on costs. If they went into the NPL, there would still be a lot of long journeys. I feel sorry for their supporters but it could be the right decision in the long run.

They might end up playing my local team South Liverpool in the FA Vase!

Scunthorpe join Brackley in the National League. I am pleased about that. They finished second and have the largest attendance in NLN. If they had stayed in the league, I think they would have won it next season, so it is best for Southport to get them out of the way!

Chester cause a few issues. There was trouble after the game on Good Friday. However, their presence in NLN ensures a local derby and a 2,000+ crowd, which should help with the finances. I don’t think any of the promoted or relegated teams will bring that kind of crowd, with the possible exception of Fylde.

I expect Chester will be either the Boxing Day or New Year’s Day fixture, with the return game at Easter.

Chester Boxing Day..thats about the right description for them.
Last years NLN play off Chester V Brackley, the locals attacked the away fans in the ground after their loss.
Upset many children and parents ..
When they visited Banbury, similar, trouble before and after the match.
These incidents cost clubs additional fees in policing. Perhaps the league should insist Chester pay the extra that these clubs have to pay in increased policing costs. But the foolish .%%%%. will just carry on.

National League play off final is Oldham and Southend, I though Forest Green would have made it, but that maybe a interesting day out with Brackley to see a Vegan eco green ground.

KSV1919, played crap last week, lost 3-1.

This week last match of the season home to Bregenz, who are 9th in the league while KSV have dropped from the dizzy heights of 3rd to 4th.

Home is 4/6 Draw is 29/10 Away is 11/4.

I dont expect another KSV beach party and they should win this.

    30 home win @4/6
Correct Score 4.40 3-1 home win at 10s

To finish the season KSV won..5-3..
    30@4/6 gives 50
Add that to the 70 makes 120 profit.
All due no doubt to that lucky 119/1 correct score double a few months back..phew.
