I think/hope Southport are safe now, probably need 5 more points to be certain. Oxford City are well out of form and may do the double drop.
Brackley’s next 5 matches are Kings Lynn A Tuesday, Buxton H Sat, Radcliffe A Sat, Kidderminster H Tues with the last fixture in March being Scarborough at H. Brackley have lost 10 times in the league this season, 5 more than Scunthorpe, but have won 22 with 4 draws. The April fixtures are all against teams around the mid to bottom so provided the lads stay fit, winning the league is a distinct possibility now.
Imagine, Carlisle V Brackley in the national league on a Tuesday night..

March 8, 2025 at 22:14 #1722195I was quite impressed with King’s Lynn today. I thought they were one of the better teams I have seen this season. If Brackley can beat them, they have to back themselves to win the league.
I didn’t rate Buxton when I saw them but they have clearly played well since.
Radcliffe are a strange side. They have some decent players and ought to be doing better.
I haven’t seen Kidderminster or Scarborough. The latter are our next opponents at Haig Avenue in two weeks time and we play Kidderminster on the last day of the season.
A thread has begun on the fan forum asking if Jim Bentley should be sacked. The consensus seems to be if we lose to Marine on Tuesday (which would put the Crosby side above us in the table), he is skating on thin ice.
March 8, 2025 at 22:16 #1722196Great bets today. That is quite a turnaround!
March 8, 2025 at 22:39 #1722198correct score double
absolutely love it

March 9, 2025 at 06:49 #1722205Thanks guys, I certainly needed a change of luck.
After 60 mins Orient scored to make it 1-2 and I was just thinking that one of my anytime scorers would scupper me in that match. Thankfully there were no dramas in that, as for Brackley, they scored their first goal in the 73rd and second in the 89th.
No doubt that will be the only double of the season.March 10, 2025 at 14:21 #1722377Kings Lynn V Brackley tomorrow, posting now as a day at the races tomorrow.
Ive taken on board the comments above CAS, and looked at their recent form and the Linnets fan forum. Fans are not happy, but they have signed Matty Warburton from Solihull Moors in the last two weeks. Hes a good player for this level, and a former Cobbler, so one to be wary off.
The linnets have beaten Brackley at St James Park this season (no not that one the Brackley one), that was a tight 0-1. Home win 9/5 Draw 2/1 and away win is 13/10, the odds reflect the chances of both teams, basically it could be anyone of the three.
My feeling is that Brackley will do a job on them, I suspect both teams will score and the goals have been flowing for The Saints (Brackley’s nickname), not going mad here but taking a cautious punt on a 1-2 away win at 15/2.
2@15/2
Ongoing + 41.13March 10, 2025 at 16:36 #1722404Just looking at the Cobbs V Bluenoses on Saturday, I see BFRED is 7/1 for Cobbs home win.
Early bet 5@7s home win.
4-1 Home win is 200/1, cant ignore my desire for a 4-1 home win.
Bets for now
5@7s Home win
0.63 @200s 4-1 home win.
0ngoing 35.5March 11, 2025 at 18:41 #1722823At last the racing is over and it is time for the main event: Marine v Southport in the Sefton Coast derby!
Marine 13/10
Southport 7/4
Draw 2/1I cannot see an away win, unfortunately.
I cannot bring myself to do it but on current form the home win has to be the bet.
March 11, 2025 at 22:15 #1722889Marine 1 Southport 0. That home win was a bigger certainty than Lossiemouth in the Mares Hurdle.
At least it was a better game than the previous encounter, although that would not have been difficult. There wasn’t much in it but they took their chance.
We forced one decent save out of the keeper and hit the post ten minutes after they scored. But apart from one other half chance near the end, we created next to nothing.
Some of our more vocal young lads spent most of the night taunting Marine (“you’re just a bus stop to Bootle” being the only chant repeatable here). But by the end they were calling for Jim Bentley to go.
Next up: Rushall away. And they have beaten high flying Hereford 1-0 tonight…
March 12, 2025 at 08:16 #1722948I cant imagine what the missing words would be..

Brackley had the better of the match last night, but could not finish. Another point is ok, need a win Saturday against Buxton.
Scunny have Farsley and Chester play Leamington, the following Tuesday Scunny play Kiddy away while Brackley have no match. Then on the 22nd Scunny home to Chester and Brackley away to Radcliffe. Its going to be tight at the top after these games are played.March 12, 2025 at 08:45 #1722949That is not a bad draw against King’s Lynn. They are a big, physical side and difficult to play against.
Scunthorpe back to top of the league. Goodness only knows how we managed to beat them earlier this season. Their game with Chester is massive.
Radcliffe ought to be doing a lot better. They were 2-0 up on us at home early in the season (when we were going well) before we managed to get a draw. But they battered us at their place. Admittedly we were poor but Radcliffe have a lot of pace and attacking threat.
The fan forum wants Jim Bentley out. Whoever decided to conduct his post match interview with the backdrop of an advertising board which had the words “Empty promises and confusing jargon” on it might have been making a point.
I would give him the Rushall game on Saturday but if he loses there, it might be time to say goodbye. He is decent, honest and hardworking but he looks out of ideas.
March 12, 2025 at 11:31 #1723003Jim Bentley sacked! Only time will tell if that is the right decision.
March 12, 2025 at 11:44 #1723014Wow that is a shock, must have lost the dressing room and support from the top, not to mention the fans.
I like the bit ”empty promises and confusing jargon” that should be behind all managers when being interviewed before and after matches.
March 12, 2025 at 12:27 #1723024He certainly lost a lot of the fans last night. I would have given him Saturday’s game against Rushall but I suppose losing a derby match was the final straw.
I rather suspect he had lost at least some of the dressing room. I didn’t see it but I believe one of the players squared up to a few of the more vocal fans after the match was over last night.
There is also a rumour that the Chairman went to watch Liverpool v Paris St Germain last night instead of his club’s biggest match of the season so far. If true, that is not good.
Grim times for the Sandgrounders. I’d be lumping on Rushall on Saturday if I were a neutral.
March 12, 2025 at 18:50 #1723213Thanks CAS, ill take note of that.
I feel insulted that Cobbs are (were) 7/1 to beat Bluenoses at home.
But hey hoe..Ive done 5 as above..
Cheltenham has not been kind to me so far..
Barn door with a spade..and missMarch 12, 2025 at 18:56 #1723214I just see no more 7s..
9/2 now..
