Thats a fair post andrew although i doubt the last line frankly :D

But Moores hasnt just had a tricky relationship with KP. Im not at all sure that that would develop as you would see

Wouldnt worry too much about Freddie either. Hes liked as a bloke and player but hes also had "differences" with a Strauss too. im not sure taht his take on KP would be that relevant maybe? And on field body language between the two is not exactly in the Lee/Ponting class is it?

Im not convinced about KP but open minded for now

Yes, now I think about it, I’m not sure how many of the players would be likely IPL material anyway. Freddie. KP. Er….Collingwood?

From what I read, Freddie is hugely influential in the dressing room, maybe in the past he has been too influential, but it would be arrogant of me to say I know anything for sure, since I haven’t spent a great deal of time in that dressing room myself.

Anyway, let’s hope KP turns it around in the 2nd Test.

And you make a good point about Botham. Compared to the thrashings administered in 1986 and 1988, Botham’s defeats to the West Indies look respectable. He wasn’t a great captain though, far too touchy and lacked the ability to get the best out of different kinds of players, none of whom were as good as him.
