A recent RP article, concerning the racing surface at Wolverhampton, contained the following quote from Hugh Collingridge:
“I broke a very good horse down there last year, The Violin Player, who was the soundest horse in the world, but he ruptured both suspensory ligaments on the home turn.
“After that I vowed I would never send a real good horse back there again.â€
Paul Nicholls said he wouldn’t run a "good horse on that ground" I believe was the quote about Wetherby when pulling Denman out of the Charlie Hall yet he preceeded to run one anyway.
Perhaps one of the current members of the TRF syndicate would like to comment on this, given that Collingridge ran their very own Tajjree on the surface just eight days ago.
