Richard Hughes seemed quite keen on Amazing Storms chances in the 2 year old maiden at Windsor tonight. Looking back at his last race at Goodwood he showed plenty of speed, maybe a little too much as was pretty keen as R Hughes had taken quite a pull, ran very wide around the bend but was still there at the finish before fading late on. The drop to 6f may get this one off the mark.
5.40 Windsor maiden – AMAZING STORM 10/3 £5.00 Win bog
Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 8, 2011 at 15:55 #367563The Nunthorpe Stakes is not a race I would usually bet on but with Margot Did in the field I will have a small pop each way at 33’s as I feel she has the ability and has shone since switching to front running tactics. She has had a short break since LTO and according to her trainer this has been the target since the Coral Charge. The opposition looks healthy but she could be underrated.
Nunthorpe Stakes – MARGOT DID 33/1 £2.00 each/way 1/4 1,2,3

Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 11, 2011 at 22:14 #367794Looking forward to the Juddmonte International at York next week and Await The Dawn looks a good thing in my opinion. Although likely to be his toughest assignment this season there is Question marks hanging over his rivals with Twice Over’s form up and down and the stable jockey set not to ride him if both he and Midday turn up and with plenty of rain up north at the moment the ground might not be suited to Midday in any case. Neither Form or ground whatever the weather does would not hinder the fastly impressive Await the Dawn.
Juddmonte International – AWAIT THE DAWN 5/4 £10 Win

August 12, 2011 at 16:51 #367853Couldn’t agree more on Await The Dawn Nathan, he could be the best of all the Ballydoyle older horses. I’ll definitely get involved, but not until closer to the day!
August 12, 2011 at 22:12 #367873He’s certainly done little wrong to date. Don’t leave it too late Tommy, he’ll be odds on quicker than it takes Frankel to run a mile……….
Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 18, 2011 at 07:55 #368447On the bright side of Await The Dawn losing yesterday was Midday was my choice of the Cecil so I would have lost anyway. Midday as Sir H keeps saying is even better than last year so may have to get an Ante-post for the Breeders soon. Sea Moon was a bit tasty, same again for Leger please…….
Today running is my Royal Ascot eyecatcher Fire Lily and did I back her when winning in Ireland next time out. … That run also caught the eye so have took the 13/2 today incase my eye turns out to be working for a change.
Lowther – FIRE LILY 13/2 £5.00 Each/Way
Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 20, 2011 at 21:45 #368764I’m going to re-invest some of the pennies that lovely horse Margot Did won me. I see the plan for her now is off to Paris on Arc weekend, I think her chances there would be ground dependent so leaving that alone for now.
I don’t think Workforce has done much wrong this season and will have another tenner on him for the Arc. His defeat to SYT was a good performance for me as the O’Brien horse had conditions to suit in the end. I also feel his 2nd in the King George was down to a slow pace and even then he managed to run better than the previous year. Pace and ground could fall right for this horse come October 2nd and I’m sure the master trainer will have him as ready as last year.
Arc – WORKFORCE 7/1 £10.00 Win
Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 28, 2011 at 13:30 #36938210/1 about Fire Lily seems a fair enough price although Maybe and La Collina have both got great form you never know with the two year olds and Fire Lily looks a consistent type who could surprise the apple cart. 8 runners at present and if the main 2 are too good hopefully She can land 3rd at worst.
Moyglare – FIRE LILY 10/1 £2.50 each/way
Blackbeard to conquer the World
September 5, 2011 at 17:45 #370048Fame And Glory beaten in the trial race but if is anything like the shape he was in at Royal Ascot should have way too much ability for the rest of these to deal with.
Irish St Leger – FAME AND GLORY 5/4 £20.00 Win
Blackbeard to conquer the World
September 5, 2011 at 19:51 #3700695/4 certainly looks a good price doesn’t it Nathan, can’t see it lasting long!
September 5, 2011 at 21:57 #370087I think it’s good price Tommy. He has to have a better than 50% chance of winning this or does that sound to much like Ginge…..
What’s the vibes like over there, the Irish going to steam into him?
Blackbeard to conquer the World
September 5, 2011 at 22:08 #370089Can say that I know Nathan
Most of the horsey folk I know are only stirring from their slumber in anticipation of Listowel
I’ll probably ‘steam into him’ with my 20 bob though!
September 10, 2011 at 17:11 #370675I was hoping to update this evening with at least 1 winner out of Sea Moon and Fame And Glory but not to be. I had penciled down Premio Loco this morning but left it alone as I couldn’t see much of a pace angle delighted he won though as he’s a horse I think alot of. Cant see myself having many more bets this flat season other than perhaps Harbour Watch in the Middle Park the French 2 year old Dabrisim I think he’s called if he runs on Arc weekend and maybe a bit more on the Breeders Cup.

September 30, 2011 at 13:39 #372550Out of all the 2 year olds this season the one who for me was the most visually impressive was the French horse Dabirsim. Hopefully he can repeat the dose this weekend.

Go, Go Workforce in the Arc…..
Blackbeard to conquer the World
October 11, 2011 at 09:26 #374051I’m going in again on Goldikova to make history. I think her season has been geared for this race and think she can improve from her performance in the race at Longchamp like she has in previous years. She has lost nothing in defeat all season and although I very much like Strong Suit and the other European contenders for this race, Goldikova has proven she takes the air miles well.
Breeders Cup Mile – GOLDIKOVA 3/1 10 win.

November 9, 2011 at 16:48 #376928Happy to end the season in profit……. , high point for me was Canford Cliffs winning the Queen Anne and Margot Did the Nunthorpe. Lows was Workforce and Canfords sorry end to his racing career. I’ll leave the jumps to the professionals on here, so will continue this thread at a fresh start next Flat season. Cheers.
