Did he look like he was hanging or carrying his head awkwardly from coming into the straight. Having watched the race a couple of times since, I believe if Hughes had been more vigourous from turning in rather than appearing to have accepted he would not get there and seemed to be riding for a place I think he would have won.
That leads me on to thinking how good is Cyrname.
I reckon that was as good as he could produce in the conditions on the day. If he had raced nearer the pace he would not have had the reserves to produce that finishing burst.
I think 2m 4f is his ideal distance.
