Tonight at 8 o clock. Which horse do you think they will put 1st?
They might avoid the favourite, so i will go with Burrows Saint.
April 9, 2021 at 17:15 #1535276I reckon they might go for Rachael Blackmore’s mount. If they don’t put an Irish horse then the computer must have a virus or sumat.
BUY THE SUN
April 9, 2021 at 20:59 #1535338They didnt avoid the fav after all.
April 9, 2021 at 21:02 #1535339Nobody’s picked that result in Nathan’s competition yet!
April 9, 2021 at 22:15 #1535358So what is the result? Even when searching “Virtual Grand National 2021” I am still getting a whole load of unrelated crap and none the wiser
April 9, 2021 at 23:14 #1535383I haven’t seen it Tonge but found the result on The Sun site about 1 hour ago…
1st : Cloth Cap
2nd : Kimberlite Kandy
3rd : Any Second Now
4th : Burrows Saint
5th : Minella TimesThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 10, 2021 at 08:48 #1535445And the ‘Race of Champions ‘ result was
1st Aldaniti
2nd Ballabriggs
3rd Don’t Push It
4th Seagram
5th Mr FriskSurely not fixed, on the 40th anniversary of Aldaniti’s real win?!
April 10, 2021 at 10:30 #1535496Race of champions should be won by red rum every year
April 10, 2021 at 11:26 #1535519It was great to see Bob Champion in such good form 40 years on. Lovely interview with him.
And yes, there was no way any horse bar Aldaniti was going to win it after that!
April 10, 2021 at 13:20 #1535573Haha, agree Broadsword, the winner’s interview for the Race of Champions took place before the race happened! Great to see Bob Champion in such good form, and remarkable to think how long ago his and Aldaniti’s exploits were now. Seemed a good tactical decision to keep Red Rum out of the field if they wanted an Aldaniti victory.
The probability of a horse refusing early in the race or while still in with a chance seems rather too high at present. But hard to criticise the programming based on past results, and the graphics are excellent.
April 10, 2021 at 13:28 #1535579In the race of champions, CHARACTER BUILDING nearly won. Can’t have that so they had him refused at the 29th fence. Then the first five was all previous winners.

I want the winner of the virtual to be a horse which has been pulled out of the real race, which will happen one year.

Next year in the Virtual National, they’ll probably have one rooted at the start, like KING JOHN’S CASTLE was.

You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.April 10, 2021 at 13:40 #1535586I was half expecting a victory for The Storyteller this time round!
April 10, 2021 at 16:14 #1535635Character Building prominent from an early stage and leading a long way out.
Cloth Cap going forward then backward forward then backward then forward.Daft.
Do they put a horse’s run style in to their calculations?
Value Is EverythingApril 10, 2021 at 16:55 #1535652I’m indignant on behalf of the virtual jockeys- nobody pulls up they just force tired horses on till they refuse!
Loving the “where are they” now feature, great to see all the old champions enjoying life.
April 13, 2021 at 17:20 #1536233Next year, instead of the Race of Champions again (yawn), they should re-run old Nationals virtually with totally different ground.
2001 (Red Marauder) on good ground, for example. Or Mr Frisk’s year on heavy.
Also: Do 1968 again without the pileup.
April 15, 2021 at 13:52 #1536562Pointless broadcast.
Nothing to see here, move along please
April 15, 2021 at 21:23 #1536644I like those ideas Quelle Farce.
This will obviously never happen, but perhaps we could also have a race with 40 Red Rum clones ridden by various jockey greats, so we can see who the simulation identifies as the best Grand National jockey.
