I’ve stuck with We’ll Come for this. Threatened to win a big handicap last season, including a placed effort in this IIRC. Hopefully, he’ll get the breaks in running.
I’ve also had a small mugs bet on Maze, in the hope that he’ll settle a lot better in a field as big as this, instead of pulling his jockey’s arms out, as per.

Absolutely nuts betting in this.
Who said anything about being sane
Ten quid ew on Arabain Spirit from Ed Dunlop’s yard and that’s way too many Black Cokes to be having on this lottery.

Don’t you get an adrenalin rush watching close to 30 horses engaged in a cavalry charge?
Surely this is the best form of horseracing.
May 9, 2009 at 15:22 #22650430-ish horses strung accross the width of the track, splitting into at least two groups, with the television coverage switching from one group to another, no, not for me, Gerald.
I used to get a buzz out of the challenge of trying to unravel the problem but I’m afraid I haven’t got the dedication necessary anymore.

May 9, 2009 at 16:14 #226509What does my head in with these cavalry charges is, You have clearly
identified your selection down at the start, you have his draw selected
clearly on screen, then just as they start the camera takes a side on view
of the bloody stalls, camera then cuts back to head on and you say where
the hell is my horse dissapeared to! Camera then goes to one group and you are scouring for your horse, not in that group! Camera then goes to
the other group and you still cant see your selection, where the **** is it
you say, then just as panic is setting in at the 2f pole GIGANTICUS bursts
through to challenge ZAAHID, FISHFORCOMPLIMENTS and EVENS AND ODDS, Zaahid is battling bravely but the 16lb turnaround in the weights with Giganticus takes its toll and young Patrick does his Dad proud and keeps it in the family for the 2nd year!May 9, 2009 at 18:25 #226522AnonymousInactive- Total Posts 17716

Sorry Gerald I would say it’s racing at it’s very worst from just about every angle. It makes it near impossible to judge horses who finish behind for future reference for one thing. Almost impossible to tell if you’re selection is travelling well during the race unless you get a close up. About one time in 100 horses in these races run to form so without the aforementioned to help you are stuffed before you start.
And most importantly you are almost certain to lose money when backing in them. These are the races the bookies love and very seldom ever lose in.
Occasionally you get a real specialist in these type of races that you can back with a good degreee of confidence but that is once in a blue moon.
