Do we have any on here?

I’ve just seen an advert for a vegan kebab, I really don’t know what to call it but it isn’t a kebab!

Why do they have to kid themselves, can’t they eat vegetables without disguising them as meat?

I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highways

I’m one, as I do not like the taste or idea of chewing flesh. So I therefore don’t go for these substitutes. They aren’t for me either.

I’ve just had a veg sandwich today, so I am a veggie for the day. I eat less meat but will buy meat alternatives ( the substitutes) if they look healthy ( a lot are not ) but more importantly, and more especially, if they are 75% off.

Well Clive, it’s the price reduction if it’s low it can make the meal enjoyable. My diet is often dictated to by what is in the clear out bins. I never worry about sell by dates they are conservatively careful
Milk is different but you can smell or taste a smidgeon to tell if it is off.
I had an almond latte today £2.25… my only luxury and the last for some time so something to savour ( My tea is black but the coffee wasn’t)
I only eat sandwiches when I am travelling. If I did weaken and buy one it would be about 70p – not £1.25 – I was pushed for time yesterday.

On Friday I had a pint of krone ( Fosters to be exact ) £3.95 in London (greater) and yes I was in company and the pub was a bit heaving. I was seated at a distance from the herd.

As a carnivore, I genuinely admire vegetarians – but I couldn’t eat a whole one.

Why does it matter to you?

“Why does it matter to you?”

Aye, its a puzzler that one. Folk seem bewildered, and are constantly asking me why I don’t eat meat.

My stock answer has become “I eat what I want to eat, if thats alright with you of course”.

So long as it doesn’t adversely impact on me and mine. I don’t mind what others do.

Not because I’m a Saint – I’m just not that interested in others tbh.

Vegetarians and vegans never did nothing to me – crack on.

I tend to find the opposite in that I have never asked a question to a vegetarian regard their choices however plenty of vegetarians have asked me “why do you eat meat”.?

When Father died he had accumulated around 100 tins of lentil soup, same with vegetable, tomato and oxtail. 1000’s of teabags and enough toilet roll to last him a couple of decades. He was prepared for a lock down a couple of years before the covid19 had kicked off.
Neither my brother or I were that keen on lentil soup so the food bank inherited the lot

Equally annoying. Do they wear leather shoes? Clothing? Have animal products within their toiletries?
