Rory Stewart went and stayed with his constituents when he became an MP so he could get to know them and understand their problems. Can you imagine Trump doing that. And the only claim he has for doing something for the environment is that ‘ he builds lots of golf courses’. The way he treated the people in Scotland when he built one there is appalling.
November 7, 2024 at 19:05 #1712062Trump only cares about Trump
November 8, 2024 at 03:05 #1712087Trump’s campaign had a logic. As Terry Pratchett said, when you sell sausages you don’t wait for people to want sausages, you go out and make them hungry. When you want to sell fear, you first go out + make people scared and victimised.
And as any con-artist will tell you, you can only con people who actually want to be conned.November 8, 2024 at 05:56 #1712090Let’s be blunt here he got women to vote for him despite going against a woman and having let’s say very questionable opinions/behaviours on how woman should be treated , he didn’t just beat her he massacred to democrats , he has the Senate and every house , he’s pretty much got the power to do what ever he wants
November 8, 2024 at 08:52 #1712092Spot on analysis, from a site that is certainly not “right wing”:
Democrats must rid themselves of metropolitan mindset elitism…
November 8, 2024 at 08:56 #1712093Another article from the same site. I don’t entirely agree with all the details but I do agree with its central point:
“Voters are understandably irritated with liberals & progressives who think government is about being moral, rather than about making the least worst decision available.”

November 9, 2024 at 08:58 #1712210Thanks for the articles, far better comment than a lot of what is written on all sides of the media. Seems an interesting site overall, I’ll have a look around. Never heard of it before.
I think that map just goes to show what a ridiculous system is in place, ours is bad enough but it’s even worse there. The current count is around 74m to 70m or 50.5% to 48.0%. You can see how the losing side (whichever one that may be) gets so disgruntled. You can represent nearly half of those who voted and basically have no say whatsoever.
