If you had to reccomend Two songs for the rest of us forumites to listen to what would they be?

I’d go with Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd and Who’s Loving You by the Jackson 5.

Take no notice of gamble, he’s baaarmy

My first choice is the spellbindingly beautiful- Moments Of Pleasure- Kate Bush

Second choice could be one of many and nearly went for Starman- Bowie. Had quite an effect on me when first seen on TOTP, but have plumped for Rock Lobster! Never tire of hearing it and a fab video.

Nice suggestions from Ewe, gamble – I can only think of one at the moment, not entirely sure about the mushroom, though, and frankly even less so about the snake – https://youtu.be/NL6CDFn2i3I

Neon Knights by Black Sabbath. Bloody hell you can tell how much better Dio’s vocal was than Osbourne’s

Moonlight Shadow by Mike Oldfield feat. Maggie Reilly. Has there been a better vocalist to complement a song?

I could pick hundreds more ;-)

We have collected 10 songs for the LP, but notwithstanding the phenomenal progess, there are a few minor problems – Not all the twelve badgers are in agreement, and the snaaake is extremely unhappy !

It’s a great track….apart from the mushroom – and the snake!

Why is it never just about the badgers?

When will they finally get their day in the sun?

    Terry Rice-Milton x 2:

    Yesterday has just departed
    And tomorrow hasn’t started
    All that really matters
    Is right now

    And you should
    Live a lifetime
    In each minute
    Take the sweetness
    From within it
    Yesterday has gone
    Without a sound

    What’s the good
    Of living in the past
    Look around you
    Things are changing fast

    Don’t concern yourself
    With what’s ahead
    It’s too late to live
    When you are dead

    Bit of an odd one

    But two overlooked songs

Terry Callier. Adored in the world of soul but not widely known elsewhere

Gorgeous soul jazz with a wonderful almost C&W swing.

And from the most staggering brilliant artists of the 20th century, this overlooked piece of perfection.

Lennon stated it was Mccartnys greatest moment. The words are beautifully and damningly constructed and as ever the pure imaginative simplicity is stunning.

Now for those suggesting Black Sabbath etc.. Do me a favour. I think that as with Rap (as one example), we know whether we want to hear that stuff or not.

Its ok for smelly guys wearing denim jackets living in villages …but no thanks

Good call on the Jackson 5. They are again often over looked

A mate of mine who has seen just about everyone said the most astonishing live moment was the Jacksons when the curtains peeled back and they opened with this. He said the place went berserk

    Listen and you can imagine…

And if you dont know this one ..then shame on you
