Any of you jumps people getting twitchy for the new season proper yet? Still got the Ayr Gold Cup and the Cambridgeshire to endure though.
September 17, 2007 at 21:09 #115384Welcome to the forum Hogmany.
Better not poke your head out too far. You might find it flattened by the hooves of a two year old in an end of season five furlong maiden nursery (if such an event exists).
September 17, 2007 at 21:13 #115388How tiresome these Flat v Jumps threads are. Wouldn’t our time be better served with another poll about our favourite TV personality.
September 17, 2007 at 23:10 #115412I’m having a couple of weeks in St Tropez before the start of the proper racing season.
September 17, 2007 at 23:32 #115415I’m looking forward to the all weather season…
only Chelts and Aintree does it for me over the jumps!
September 18, 2007 at 06:37 #115426Jumping form….
Horses transferring from the flat turf
Horses alternating between AW and jumping
Horses coming from the provinces in France, Germany, New Zealand
Horses racing in bumpers, then hurdles
Horses moving between hurdling and chasing
Horses coming from PTP in Ireland
Sedgefield, Towcester, Bangor, Ludlow and other idiosyncratic tracks.Fascinating stuff for the fans, but a nightmare for form students.
As for the AW, it’s getting better, but still far too many plodders and inconsistent types. Oh, and Wolverhampton.
Hibernation seems worth thinking about.
September 18, 2007 at 09:14 #115439I’ll say ! Just popping my head out of the burrow for a peep. Only 5 more tedious weeks left until the first Cheltenham meeting of the season.
Yes & I might actually get some use out of my RUK sub

September 18, 2007 at 12:17 #115456You know when the NH season is really under way a couple of weeks after posting your Ten To Follow entry, when one or two of your entries are announced as being injured and out for the season.
September 18, 2007 at 12:28 #115459Another new poster, welcome to you as well, Ravel.
How’s your Bolero doing?

Aye, and even longer until Cartmel races again!

September 18, 2007 at 13:24 #115466I cant see why the animal rights crowd get all worked up over NH Racing, because without it there would surplus supply of animal feeds and darkest Asia would be inundated with exported Horse flesh for consumption at their dining tables and restaurants.
As most NH horse are just slow plodders who couldn’t hack it at the real game, that is Flat Racing, it certainly has some purpose it saves a lot of the protaganists from a horrible faith, and gives us gamblers something to chew on during the dark winter months before the real racing starts again in March.September 18, 2007 at 13:28 #115469….can’t people enjoy both!!!! I dunno, I must be the only one on here
September 18, 2007 at 15:00 #115475Thanks for the welcome, seabird, I wish I could say my Bolero was a 10. Nice to be here after watching for a long time.
