It might all be over bar the shouting, but the Wooden Spoon is still up grabs.
If Duffle Coat doesn’t win the 1505, then it’s down to Bill Baxter vs Sam Brown
The excitement is palpable here, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife.
Had this exact same situation with me and Rob last year, so I’m used to it. “Good Luck” Eezer
Edit
Sam Brown now a Non Runner. The more I look at Bill Baxter the more I like him too, and might actually bet himMay 3, 2025 at 14:29 #1729196Haha, may the ‘best man win’ VtC
May 3, 2025 at 16:28 #1729292FFS lol
Well done Eezer
May 3, 2025 at 16:37 #1729296Unbelievable VTC, but at least you bet him, I ended up deserting him
May 3, 2025 at 19:21 #1729335Well, all over for another year. Without a shadow of a doubt my favourite ever renewal of this, it’s been a great to see so many in contention, with the result only decided yesterday. Could’ve went so many different ways
The win of State Man yesterday obviously had a huge impact on the final standings, winning for loads of you, with Landafar getting the bonus points.
Tonge also scored yesterday, courtesy of her excellent pick Dinoblue
Eezer missed out on the wooden spoon, thanks to Bill Baxter, leaving me to pick it up. Not for the first time
Last winner was Lulamba for Landafar
Bill Baxter 38.10
Dinoblue 26.58
Golden Ace 12
Lulamba 27.10
State Man 53.25On to the winners now
Our 24/25 Winner is EP1987. Very well done mate, and great to see you go one better than last year. Right there all the way, always in contention, and a late finishing burst. I’ve got Buckers and Euroalien as Standing Orders for each May, and looks like I might have to add you now
Very very unlucky to Gingertipster. Awesome list you had, and I don’t think you’ve been out the first four this year. Brilliant performance Mark
Picking up third is Goodfellow. Stalwart of the competition, and always dynamite in the comps too. Delighted to see you on the podium Hugh
Well done to Buckers for winning the Bonus Race Leaderboard. A dual winner of the main competition already, and now turning his hand to another prize. Well done Ron
Big words for those in behind too, not least Mike2084 who was there all the way, just running out of gas. So unlucky Mike
Fitting that Landafar had the last winner, as his Golden Ace was my favourite pick this year.
No question my favourite Ten though, and that went to TakeYourTime. Incredible stuff mate. I missed my usual battle at the bottom with Rob North this year, but he wiped the floor with me, and had an absolutely superb go at it too. Well done guys
Thanks as ever to you all for taking part, and as I say every year, huge thanks for those who donated their hard earned for the comp. It makes a huge difference
Many thanks to……

On a serious note, Graham (BigG) has been an extraordinary contributor to the prize fund over the years, and obviously not on here for a few weeks. I wish him well.
Also, please let me know if I’ve missed anyone who contributed, as sometimes the payments into my accounts get me a bit confused.
Well done again to the winners, and I’ll be in touch hopefully tonight, tomorrow morning at latest

Strong Leader 12May 3, 2025 at 21:06 #1729356Well done EP1987 on the win, and to the others in the money, and thanks VTC for running the comp for us.
May 3, 2025 at 23:03 #1729366Well done EP1987 and to those up the top of the table in a hard fought contest.
My own competition tailed off a bit towards the end as I relaxed having avoided the ‘relegation zone’ quite comfortably. Previously unraced under NH Rules Chasingouttheblues did me proud and I had a Cheltenham Festival winner with Myretown which was a bit of a novelty, and he sluiced up which was ever better!
Thanks once against to VTC for the task of organising this competition which must tie up a fair amount of his time for 6 months of the year.
May 4, 2025 at 06:13 #1729378Well done to the winners EP, Ginger and Goodfellows. Also the Bonus Race leader Buckers which gives this competition an extra dimension.

Thanks for keeping score on this Bob (VTC)
Couldn’t have been easy at times.IT WAS FUN !!!

You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.May 4, 2025 at 08:01 #1729383Thanks for all of the hard work that you put into this VTC, its been great reading the write ups.
Well done to those that were in with a shout going into the last week and those who finished in to money well played.
May 4, 2025 at 08:41 #1729386Well done EP and all those in the money
great competition
Thank you Vtc for all the hard work you put into thisGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
May 4, 2025 at 09:28 #1729388Well done EP and the two runner ups some great scoring. Well done Buckers topping the bonus leader board.
Top job VtC for running it and keeping tally of the runners and scoring
The more I know the less I understand.
May 4, 2025 at 09:49 #1729390Well done EP and the other winners, superb stuff.
Huge thanks to VtC for all the hard work running the competition
May 4, 2025 at 15:09 #1729421Well done to EP, and also Gingertipster and Goodfellow.
Great effort in running this VTC, so thank you for all that work
May 4, 2025 at 15:54 #1729437Well done EP getting up in the shadow of the post, what a finish! Well the podium finishers and buckers too, some fab selections. I love seeing what everyone has picked and this is my favourite TRF comp. Thanks as always VtC it’s such a commitment to score all season especially during the likes of the Christmas racing and Cheltenham.
See you back here in the autumn
May 4, 2025 at 22:09 #1729476Well done to EP,Gingertipster and Goodfellow. Great picks !
Thanks once again Venture for your Trojan work throughout the season. As you say it was very competitive and keeping tabs on the scores can’t have been easy, what with other things in life going on (punting, pinting, fishing etc, not to mention the dishes, hoovering etc 🤣🤣) !! God help us through the damned Flat season now and roll on the next TTF !!
May 5, 2025 at 07:20 #1729522Well done winners, and thanks, as always, to VTC for his sterling work.
See you all again in the autumn!
May 5, 2025 at 16:50 #1729574Thanks for everyone’s praise. tbh I may have led for a while until the penultimate day, but didn’t really think I was that “unlucky”. For sure The Hill fell twice and Lossie once and Teahupoo was favourite for Aintree until a late withdrawl – all as short priced favourites in bonus races… But EP had those too and none were ever sure-fire winners going to the last like State Man (who I did not have). Now that was unlucky! EP Deserves to win this, especially as he was second last year. Maybe my turn next. LOL.
…And Buckers deserved to win the Bonus Race, Pic D’Orhy making the difference. He subbed out Caldwell Potter too! But for which I believe he would’ve beaten me for second in the main comp’!… And I’d immediately regretted not keeping Grey Dawning in my list (at the expense of) and not subbing out Gaelic Warrior… Only for Gaelic Warrior to turn up at 3m in the Bowl and score me a whole load of points in beating Grey Dawning and then won at Sandown as well. So I was lucky in many ways too.
Thanks again VTC, excellent comp’.
