Thanks again David.
April 25, 2009 at 18:35 #223601Danny finds a burst of speed on the run-in!
Just a quick tally after the last race – I’ll post the final results later tonight
In the end he didn’t need him but the win of Twist Magic broke a run of 25 straight losers for
Danny
to seal the deal on the last day.
Non vintage
holds onto 2nd spot which hopefully makes up a little bit for the disappointment of losing out on the first sectional prize on a technicality.
Swallow Cottage
selects Hennessy to win the 3rd Sectional of the competition on 21.32pts from Bulwark in 2nd spot.
Well done winners!
April 25, 2009 at 19:44 #223616Well done everyone!!!
Thanks again David for your hard work.
April 29, 2009 at 20:07 #224348Any sign of the (in my case gruesome) final standings DB?
April 30, 2009 at 01:39 #224453Well done Danny on winning the OOM, that means if you were a horse you would be Voy Por Ustedes.

Thanks for running the comp David. any plans for the group 1 competition?
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 30, 2009 at 14:54 #224529Finally getting around to posting up the final results of the competition.
First of all I would like to thank all those who entered, especially those who stuck around to the bitter end with virtually no chance of winning.
Sandown first and well done to both
Swallow Cottage
and
Danny
who were the only 2 entrants to score positively over the 2 races, thanks to win-only bets on Hennessy and Twist Magic respectively.
Weekend

-4.00 Pat123
-4.00 The Young Fella
-4.00 UNNAMED FAVOURITEIn the Sectional,
Swallow Cottage
settled all doubts with his winner on Hennessy on the last race of the season. Given that
Bulwark
gave the weekend a miss,
Swallow Cottage
actually slipped back to 2nd spot after his loser in the Celebration Chase and needed a Tony McCoy special to win the 3rd Section of the competition.
Our old friend the UnNamed Favourite actually did very well in this section of the competition, particularly given that it encompassed both the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals.

WelshWizard1973
filled the 3rd spot just ahead of
Swallow Cottage
in 4th and they were the only 4 entrants to score in the black over the entire competition.

-78.41 (57) The Young FellaUnfortunately I won’t be running a Group 1 competition this summer so if anybody has any ideas themselves about a Flat competition, then I’m sure most people would be more than happy to enter as, in general, the competition side of the forum is quite popular.
See you all next year at Aintree for the first race in next years OOM competition, irrespective of what the BHA decide to do with the series itself!
April 30, 2009 at 18:26 #224583Congratulations to Danny and to all those who managed to return a profit
The less said about my woeful effort the better, though I will be back next season for some more virtual emptying of the wallet, or possibly even some restoration of credibility

Many thanks for organising the comp DB
