December 24, 2013 at 00:48 #462834Congratulations to Gamble and the other winners, including Richard Hoiles ( i know he posts occasionally ) – he was superb at Ascot the other day.
Thanks to Dave and the others responsible for the site.
Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings to all the forum.
December 24, 2013 at 17:29 #462890Well done Gamble. On horseback, you’d be poetry in motion
December 26, 2013 at 16:06 #463012Congratulations to all.
Specifically pleased to see the magnificent Richard Hoiles win again, and Tidal Bay’s win in the Lexus getting Best Ride. High fives all round.December 26, 2013 at 19:46 #463045Thank you all for the kind words and the votes, very much appreciated.
Nice to see active and intelligent debate is still alive and well and heaven forbid differing opinions tolerated.
Whether your choice of commentator enhances this reputation may however be rather more open to question !
Congratulations to all the other winners and wish everyone a Happy Xmas and a profitable 2014.

Congrats Richard you had my vote, thanks for all the excitement you’re race-calls create!
December 29, 2013 at 17:22 #463428I would like to thank all
those who made comments,
and like Richard, congratulate
other winners, well and the seconds.
Few comments have been made
this year and wonder to myself
are people generally
nonplussed to see a trophy
of merit standing in a field
with a collection of dumb animals,
or is it apathy ?41 votes in the big one with
one vote only this year as against
two in the previous " strange competitions "
Not all knew of the possibility of
voting twice and the method last year
or the years previously. I myself was
unaware, stilvi also, and I guess many
more and possibly a greater number ofnormals
as opposed to elite voters.
To be fair to all competitors, why oh why
was this not set out clearly in the
conditions and before voting started ?
Two years agorazeen
had a mean
lead and could have been the first
dead man to hold the trophy aloft, but
myself and many I guess of the othernormals
who voted for him, were in the dark
to the two vote possibility, privy only
to the elite few.The silent march of the carpet slippers
But yes if half new the two vote scam
41 votes would only equate to 60 so well
below the 78 of last year. The votes cast
are a barometer of users I would suggest.
One could argue though that people are
tiring of the yearly vote – we will see
next year !Perhaps the faster twitter is having an
effect or people are weaning themselves
off forums as the teenagers retaliate against
facebook. It is all guesswork.Forums are ever changing, I wish you all
a HAPPY NEW YEARp.s. the first horse I took for a gallop
I fell of into long lush moist welsh grass.
The actual second or so I was in mid air
and the contact into the softness was like
a moment in heaven.December 29, 2013 at 18:23 #463439Not all knew of the possibility of

Below is a post I submitted during the 2011 jamboree. A surfeit of florid padding from Drone as usual but the point was made and there for all to see
Hope you, yours or whoevers had a good Christmas, and happy new year. Don’t forget to observe Imbolc on 1st of February though I doubt a tup of your advancing years has many milky ewes in his field these days

Re: TRF Poster of the Year 2011 – VOTE HEREMessrs Putin and Mugabe look on in awe as the hordes of carpetbagging Guests from without these walls clamber in Where Eagles Dare-style and rig the votes
Recent posts from that familiar subscriber Anonymous should have been a warning Cormack: your defences are down
As Drone I voted for my nominee
Eclipse First
As Guest I could have voted for any or all others but settled for just giving the immaculately attired
Eliza Voiceoftheraces
a push off the blocks
December 29, 2013 at 18:48 #463443Drone, thank you for putting that up.
It is pretty clear from
your post where the chink in the
armour is. Possibly my strong meds
have wreaked havoc with my memory
cells. Not everyone reads
the preamble though – I did obviously.
Well some were unaware and it should
have been plainly stated, but maybe
it was more widely known and by me
too. Disgraceful
Maybe other doubters may come out
of the woodwork ! -
