Eddie the Shoe was a member at one time as we chatted about his Grand National tips one year ( I used to buy The Observer when he wrote in the sports section and his GN tips used to be spot on’. Ithink he concentrates on the AW now.

Never see him at local jumps meetings but often at the cricket

But last time – years ago at Windsor – I had a proper chat with him he was Flat-focussed and mostly races 5f-1m as he felt there were too many falsely-run races beyond a mile.
