Got back from down South on Monday and the league had a different
look to it. Numpty goes racing takes the top spot thanks to Galopin
Des Champs and 52.30 points in the Irish Cup at Leopardstown. It was
a popular choice and enough for Numpty to take the reins at the head
    of the league. :good: :good:

Edantony may have fallen from the top, but he made sizeable strides
to get back up there with Galopin Des Champs, Slate Man in the Irish
Champion Hurdle (53.10 points) and Fakir Doudries (24 points) for
a whopping tottle of 129.40 points. Outstanding :good:

Nathan is on fire at the moment, fresh from his victory at Leopardstown.
He wasn’t holding back here either with Galopin Des Champs, El Fabiolo
(31.10 points) and Gentleman Dee Me (32.90 points) for another 100+
score and into 3rd place. You’re in a purple patch at the moment Nath,
    super stuff :good:

Bobby had a pretty rough week and drops from the top to eigth. He’ll
    be back, nothing surer :good:

Green’s Gallopers did just that and followe Nathan in with the same 3
winners to make a jump from 15th to 9th. Another with a 100+ score.
Keep that going |Green and you’ll be challenging up the top. Well
    done :good:

Plenty of other decent scores but those are the ones towards the
    top of the table.

Some decent racing at Newbury at the weekend, Jonbon will be well followed.

I hope I’m back on track now, the last couple of weeks have been “interesting”

    Good luck everyone :good:

This is a double weeker, simply haven’t had the time and when I
have I’ve had problems getting on the site, like right now when
I was going to do a late update…………

    We’re currently performing essential maintenance

We’re performing some updates so please check back soon. Thank you for your patience.

other times it tells me i’m not in the UK. I’ll try to keep it more
regular if I get back on. I have a lot of additional things to deal
    with at the moment.

I’ll update when I can find my way back on,

A lot has happened since I last had the chance to do a proper update
2 weeks ago and Edantony who had been knocked off his perch has forced
his way back up there thanks to Shishkin’s win in the Ascot Chase. Good
to see Shishkin back to his best and 29.50 points to put Tony back as our
League Leader. You’re a hard man to keep down Tony, best of luck :good:

There is a gulf between Tony and Numpty in the runners up spot,
a whole .01. Tony on 379.62 and Numpty on 379.61. A photo finish
had to be called for. Numpty kept the chase up with Jonbon. It should
have been little more than a walkover for Jonbon (1/6) in the Kingmaker
at Warwick. It didn’t look that way when Jonbon fluffed a couple and
Calico put a few lengths between them. Fortunately for Numpty, and quite
a few others, Jonbon finally got his head in gear and 21.10 points keeps
it closer than kissing cousins

Jonbon came to the rescue for Nathan (Blackbeard’s Barmy Army) and keeps
him in the 3rd spot just 10 points behind the dynamic duo. This is
boiling up and with Cheltenham only weeks away I expect some stable’s
to hit treble points. Well done Nathan, hanging in there :good:

Like I said, Jonbon was a popular pick and moved a few in the competition,
including Blades Bombers who picked up a place to be sitting just behind
the aforementioned trio. Likewise Man Superstars who jumps 1 to 5th and
Bobby is still dreamin about Madeira with Jonbon keeping his place in 8th.
    Well done guys :good:

Green’s Gallopers jumped 3 places to sixth with the very handy looking
Oscar Elite, who disposed of the odds on Nicky Henderson hotpot Bold
Endeavour with some ease. Nice one Green, he heads for the Ultima and
Joe Tizzard sounds pretty positive about him :good:

Middle of March deserves a mention for having both Jonbon and Shishkin,
making him the fortnight’s highest scorer with 50.60 points and biggest
mover, 6 places up to 11th. Excellent stuff MOM very well done and two
that will probably be odds on at Cheltenham :yahoo:

This weeekend has some decent looking racing. The Bobbyjo over at Fairyhouse
looks like the Willie Mullins Show with some old faithfulls, Burrows Saint,
Carefully Selected and Kemboy. No doubt this is the prep for many for the
    National.

Over at Kempton, some likely ones for Cheltenham wanting to make their mark.
Gary Moore’s Camp are setting out strong vibes about Hansard, likely to go
off fav in the Dovecot Novices’Hurdle. If he wins that one, you wont get a
sniff of the 40/1 offered for the Supreme. When you consider his sire was
The Gurkha who won the Sussex Stakes and French 2,000 Guineas then this
horse could be anything. The 66/1 with Unibet for the Supreme, or 40/1
    E/W NRNB with others isn’t the worst E/W shot I’ve seen. I’m having a
    bit of that :good:

The one I love the look of is the Coral Trophy Handicap Chase, it’s right
up my street with 18 runners (at the moment) and nigh on impossible, although
maybe not. Cooper’s Cross won the Sky Bet Handicap Chase at Doncaster like
there was plenty left in the tank. He gets 5lbs for that, but it puts him
spot on 10st. Stewart Colthard would love to get him into the Grand National,
but he’s too light at the weights to make the cut. It wouldn’t do him any harm
to pick up a few lbs here and he’s entered in a couple at The Festival. He jumps
soundly and gallops. He might just be the answer to this and the 11/1 with Willie
Hill is good enough for me.

The Grade 2 Pendel Novices’ Chase will have quite a hot fav I’d imagine with
Harry Fry’s Boothill. However it’s his other one, In Excelsis Deo who came
out after nearly a year off and to my eye was hugely impressive at Hereford.
If he runs the 6s will disappear like snow of a dyke.

It’s good to be back. Good luck to all with the competition and any punting
    this weekend :good:

Well a solitary stable, To Madeira, picked up the only points (3.10 points) in the
league last week with Frodon. Well done Bobby, he might have finished 3rd at Kempton,
but what a horse, he ran a great race giving 1 1/2st to the winner and nearly 2 st to
the 2nd. He’s a horse who wears his heart on his sleeve, you get the same 100% effort
every time. That makes you the top scorer this week Bobby and up 1 place to 7th. Well
    done mate :yahoo:

As you would expect things are a bit thin on the ground before Cheltenham, Doncaster
have the Grimthorpe which should be competitive, but I’ll be steering clear of Sporting
John who is a good horse on his day. I backed him last time out and he ran like a drain
coming in last some 50 lengths behind. He didn’t look overly keen for sure, so watch
him bolt up on Saturday without a penny of mine on him. Cooper’s Cross looks better
than the 5 lbs they put him up for his win last time out at Doncaster. You wont get the
16s he was then though, 5/2 is your lot.

Newbury has the Greatwood Gold Cup, Paint The Dream is down 2lb from his 3rd last time
out, that’s 4lb more than his win the time before at Newbury over C/D. He should put
up a decent display at about 7/2.

Really not a lot more to talk about, and it looks like a blank week in the league,
unless I’ve missed one out. Most are wrapped up in their stalls waiting for the
    Festival.

Good luck anyway if you’re having a punt or two, trying to get that stash ready
    for Cheltenham. :good:

Thanks for that Neil, I am presently flagellating myself (as is my want)
with thorny branches for not declaring the transfer window opened on 6th March
and will stay open until 13th March. Get those transfers in, or I’ll send Neil
    round B-)

Anyway, as for last week I did start writing it out and I’ve no idea where
it went. The bottom line is that everybody scored feck all
    Here endeth the lesson.

As for the weekend, do they still dothe £100,000 bonus for winning the
Imperial Cup and any race at the Festival

Dan Skelton’s Playful Saint is well backed and is in the County Hurdle whilst
Paul Nichols is just behind with Iceo who is another for the County Hurdle.
Both have favourites chances although Gary Moore’s Givega won with a ton in
hand last time over C/D and I’m surprised to see him penalised only 4lbs. Has
to have a chance and goes for the Ballymore at 50/1. He won’t be that price
if he runs away from them here like last time at Sandown or if you want you
can have £16 on at 280/1 on the exchange. Or maybe you won’t after I write
    this

That’s about it and although there is no change in the league, I’ll put it
up for old times’ sake. I’ll update on Monday, don’t expect too much, and
then it’s on to the week that could turn the league upside down. Be lucky :good:

Or maybe it’s because I used them when doing placepots.

Monday update (even tough it’s Wednesday) I don’t want the
Festival 1st day in here yet

Ok this is a bit awkward, I should have written this out after I
checked on Monday. The position at that point was that Numpty Goes
Racing was the only stable to have scored with Aint That A shame,
winner of the Boylesports Irish Grand National and 12.60 points.
This put Numpty (as of Monday) top of the league. On a mostly
bare week that was a rabbit pulled out the hat Numpty, very
well done mate. Top scorer and League leader. Big Congrats :yahoo:

The league has changed now with the 1st day of the Festival, so I
can’t post it or it wouldn’t fit in with the position on Monday.
I hope you understand all that.

Nothing to see here, move along, move along

    Hello to everyone

    BigG

Many Thanks for your update for last week. This is not meant to be a criticism of your work, but the race that Ain’t That A Shame won was not rhe Boylesports Irish Grand National. It was only a Beginners Chase and earned him has you say 12.60 points. Not sure what his next race will be at the moment but I hope it will be
    the Aintree Grand National.

Look forward to your update after this week, when Cheltenham is all over and hoping that I can keep the number one spot.

    Many Thanks :bye:

Appreciated John, a senior moment. He was down for the net race as the
Irish Grand National, and I just copied it without getting my brain in
gear. At least his score was right. Must do better

As expected, the Festival brought about plenty of change. Obviously the
most important move was that at the top. Man Superstars had a great
Cheltenham with 4 winners, Galopin Des Champ, Constitution Hill, Energumene
and Honeysuckle and 5 runners’up Gerry Colombe, Jonbon, Bravemansgame,
Shishkin and Facile Vega. In fact he only had 1 horse, Epatante, which
failed to score. Sensational Festival MS, and a major move from 5th to
leader of the league with a tremendous tally of 245.62 points. :yahoo:

Far to many individual winners to list them all for everyone, but sufficient
to say that Edantony was another with a great Festival Stable amassing a
total of 217.22 points, which keeps him in last week’s 2nd place and just
over 10 points behind MS. Well done ET, that keeps the pressure on MS and
was a rewarding Festival for yourself :good:

Blades Bounders split the 2 above scores with 232.08 points with no less
than 5 winners, 3 2nds and 1 3rd. That was sufficient to move blades up
from 4th to get a foot on the podium in 3rd spot. Another great stable
that came good at the right time. First class Blades :good:

Numpty Goes Jumping, despite having a really good Festival with 4 winners
and 202.87 points, loses his place at the top although there are no more
than a dozen points between the top 4. It couldn’t get much tighter. Still
right in there Numpty, best of luck :good:

A huge leep up the table, from 12th to 5th with 5 major winners at the
Festival and a superb 287.27 points for Bourne Losers. Exactly what was
needed to put yourself right back in the race. :good:

I thought Bourne would have topped the scoring, only to discover that
Sultans Of Swing knocked it out the park with 6 winners and a total of
288.82 points. That was the highest scoring stable of the week and boosted
Sultans from 15th to 6th place. Incredible week Sultans, hats off to you :yahoo:

Many stables had good scores and several winners, too many to go through, but
the above were the ones that improved their places considerably.

A competative weekend with handicaps, but most stables have already shown
their hand and I think we will have a bit of a lull until Fairyhouse and
    then Aintree.

Best of luck this week and well done to those that boosted their stables
    last week.
