Well we’re off and running with the jumps this time. The competition opens for
stable entries on 31st October 2022 and all entries MUST be in by 11am on 12th
November 2022. Selections can be submitted on the 1st date and changed as often
as you want prior to the big off.

I’m happy to stick up £50 for the winner and if we get 20 or more stables I’ll
stick up £25 for the runner up. I’ll assemble a stable, open a League, and give
the PIN NO. when the competition opens.

Scoring will start after 11am on 12th November 2022 and the competition finishes
at 11.59pm on 15th April2023. There will be a transfer window between 6th March
and 13th March 2023, just before the Cheltenham Festival. It doesn’t seem to
indicate the number of horses you can transfer in and out, but I’d take it like
it has been before which is 2 horses.

    Bonus races and Scoring

    Regular Points: Grade 1 win – 25 points, Grade 2 – 20 points, Grade 3 – 15 points,
Listed – 12 points, Any other race – 10 points.
Points will also be awarded from returns of a £1 each-way bet on the Tote in each race
    a horse runs in. Example: £1 win at 5.50 + £1 place at 1.20 = 6.70 points awarded

    Bonus Races:

    Betfair Chase (Haydock)
    Coral Gold Cup (Newbury)
    Tingle Creek Chase (Sandown)
    King George VI Chase (Kempton)
    Welsh Grand National (Chepstow),
    Savills Chase (Leopardstown)
    Irish Champion Hurdle (Leopardstown)
    Irish Gold Cup (Leopardstown)
    Betfair Hurdle (Newbury)
    Arkle Chase (Cheltenham)
    Champion Hurdle (Cheltenham)
    Queen Mother Champion Chase (Cheltenham)
Brown Advisory Chase (formerly the RSA Chase) (Cheltenham)
    Stayers’ Hurdle (Cheltenham),
    Ryanair Chase (Cheltenham)
    Gold Cup (Cheltenham)
    Betway Bowl (Aintree)
    Aintree Hurdle (Aintree)
    Melling Chase (Aintree)
    Liverpool Stayers’ Hurdle (Aintree)
    Grand National (Aintree)
Bonus Race Points: Additional 25 points for a win, 12 points for finishing 2nd.

I’d have a look through the rules on the site and FAQ, although I guess most of
you are old hands at this now. If anyone needs any help or wants anything clarified
then please just ask me, it took me a while to get my head around this site, it is
    not the most punter friendly.

That’s all I can think of at this time, all wwelcome, but I MUST INSIST ALL STABLES
ARE REGISTERED BY REGISTERED MEMBERS OF THERACINGFORUM. Also, all entries which
appear in the league, must be in our league from the off. I can’t stop someone
slipping their stable in at some point during the competition, but they will NOT
be elligible for the prize money. I’d get a stable in early enough, don’t wait for
the last day’s rush. As I previously said, you can tinker with your stable as often
you want prior to the competition starting.

Best of luck to all :good:

Thanks for the heads up, Graham.

Lots of studying to do for this, followed by lots of names in a cap and selecting 10.

Is hat size 3 1/4 entered

I’ll be picking a team, BigG
as long as I can log in.. :rose:

Will be a team of lightweights just to make up the numbers in the league
if their were a league of leagues I’d put a bit more effort in

This was my reply earlier in the week to my League of Leagues proposal….

    Hello Mr Clarke
The Team have responded to your email suggestion to confirm that unfortunately this is not something that they can currently offer for the Tote Ten to Follow competition.
However, they mentioned that it is a potential for our Tote Fantasy Bet as we look to develop new functionality for this bet type. They also suggested that maybe you could have a go on the new Fantasy product to start to understand it ahead of private leagues being launched there in January.
They thank you for your email and confirmed that we always appreciate ideas from customers and are keen to keep developing new and innovative products that punters enjoy and are uniquely Tote.
    Kindest Regards

No idea what the Tote Fantasy bet is, but if it’s a cartoon race round a make believe track,
they can feck right off :negative:

Thanks for all your efforts Graham I think the Tote are acting like Dinosaurs not responding in a more positive way to your request.
League of Leagues would make the competition much more interesting

Looking forward to the new compy, the Dark Angels are preparing to go jumping after their mediocre effort on the flat  always up for a challenge..we’ll be there.

The league of leagues is so easy for them
    The have everyone’s league
I’m sure they must have a simple built in calculator that can add up everyone’s score in a stable and divide the total by the number of people

Maybe you should email them back BigG and ask them for a league of stables..🏆

As for their suggestion of fantasy and bet… Sounds like they are on another planet trying to do something much more tricky than a simple league of leagues

    Hello again

BigG The idea behind Fantasy Racing is based on Fantasy Football.
You have a set amount to spend and a set number of races. Each horse
is given a value depending on their chance (so an odds on favourite would
be worth more than a no hoper).

The real problem in my opinion is the cost of £7.00 which is not value
when compared to other bets available on the Tote.

    All the best

That seeems a million times more work than a simple league of leagues
the Tote are brain dead in my humble opinion

    Good name for your stable
Blackbeard’s Barmy Army or something along those lines… :mail:

I could see you doing a Big G versus the Tote Sketch…like your genious Blackbeard version..I’m still chuckling to myself about that. 😅🤣😂

I’d be up for it Jac, I felt it was almost an insult to suggest
real horse lovers and followers should waste our time with something
akin to a kids game. Nathan hits the nail on the head, for a company
the size of the Tote, it’s surely not beyond their abilities to create
a League of Leagues, or as Nathan puts it, and perhaps it might sound
more reasonable to them, a league of Stables, albeit six of one and half
a dozen of the other. But hang on, I’ve got a Baldrick style plan brewing

Many thanks to all that have indicated they are up for a go again this year.
I’ll dig out 10 and start a league tomorrow, I’ll probably completely change
it before the off, but at least it gets the league open.
I’ll update tomorrow. Best of luck all :good:

Will look out for it Graham can’t wait to hear the basics of your cunning plan.
I’m ready with 10 as I usually base it around my TTF in Bobby’s compy so will put up a stable for Dark Angels. :good:

    Best of luck.Jac :rose:

“I could see you doing a Big G versus the Tote Sketch”

    I may just do that
I won’t be watching the ghastly world cup this year so I’ll add that to the things to do list whilst its on

I presume the Talking Horses contest isn’t going ahead this year Nathan. Was thinking about Diamond Geezer the other day and how much he enjoyed it. :rose: Jac
