Good Morning everyone – Hope that everyone are all well.

Important time for the next month or so for the outcome
of this competition. I still have a chance of of Top Three
    place.

Then after the end of this Flat season the Jumpers are
    back once again. :yahoo:

Time to start looking for my Lucky Pin and Crystal Ball.

All the best to everybody :good: :bye:

Weeks 16 &17 (only 4 weeks to go)

Money For Nothing still keeps his place at the top mostly thanks to Kyprios
winning the Irish St Leger (27.41 points) and a 3rd place for Emily Upjohn
in the Qatar Prix Vermeille at Longchamp (2.50 points). Just hanging on there
MFN but you still haven’t been knocked off your top podium place yet. Best of
luck over the next month :good:

A significant move has been made by John Gooch who had the winner of the other
St Leger Jan Brueghal (55.65 points) and another brilliant find with Economics who
was the winner of the Irish Champion Stakes (54.10 points). John was rolling in
the winners in the last fortnight and Bluestocking was another great winner of
the Qatar Prix Vermeille (30.30 points) A fantastic treble John which netted you
140.50 points and has moved you up from 4th position to 2nd and only 3.14 points
behind our leader, Money For Nothing. What a turnaround with only 4 weeks to go.
It makes it a nailbiter of a finish. I take my hat off to you John, I think that
was the highest single week’s score in the competition. Just superb :yahoo:

Neil’s Flat Out holds on to his 3rd spot and nearly matched John’s treble with a
double and a 2nd. His winners were Kympios (27.41 points) Kinross who was winner
of the Betfred Park Stakes (25.15 Points) and the runner up of the Irish Champion
Stakes Auguste Rodin (13.25 Points). On the podium Neil and still with enough weeks
to close the gap on our leader :good:

Inthestream was another with Kyprios (27.41 Points) and Emily Upjohn who was 3rd in
the Qatar Prix Vermeille (2.50 Points) A decent enough score Inthestream, but not
enough to have you drop a couple of places from 2nd to 4th. Still within striking
    distance Inthestream.

Man Superstars moved up a place to 4th with a double, Kyprios (27.41 Points and
Economics (54.10 Points) the winner of the Irish Champion Stakes. The 1st 8 places
all have scores over 400 which make this competition wide open. One move up MS and
heading the right way. Good luck

Aiden and a Betting (such a brilliant name :good: ) had a decent double with Kyprios
(27.41Points) and a bit of a dark horse, Porta Fortuna(28.40 Points). She was hugely
impressive MickeyJP, always travelling better than the rest and won by 1L but easing down.
She’s a possible for the Sun Chariot Stakes. I wouldn’t be betting against her, she could
make a good jump up the league for you. You dropped 1 from 5th to 6th butI think the British
Champions Series is going to decide who comes out top dog.

Threenaps made a very decent jump up the league from 11th to 7th with a first class treble,
the Leger winner Jan Brueghel (55.65 Points) the Irish Champion Stakes winner Economics
(54.10 Points) Solonaway Stakes (23.16 Points). That treble means that you join the 400+
gang. Definitely not out of it with 4 weeks to go. Good luck

Michael Walsh is never far away in this competition and despite a decent double Kyprios
and Economics (both highlighted above) and Emily Upjohn, also highlighted above, who was
3rd over at Longchamp, Michael drops a place to 8th. Michael you are the last of the 400+
stables in the league. Write Michael off at your peril, he wont be far away.

Jac (Dark Angels) had a nice double with the well quoted Kyprios and Lake Victoria (33.90 Points)
who won the Moyglare Stud Stakes. I was impressed by LV who sat plumb last until in the final
furlong she pulled wide and passed them all with great ease. I reckon she’s bound for the Fillies
Mile at Newmarket, and I don’t think I will be backing against her. Fallen Angel added anoth 1.45
points. A drop of 1 place to 9th Jac, but a good late run can have you back up there. Good luck :good:

FF91 also drops a place to 10th spot despite that well used double Kyprios and Economics. Emily
Upjohn, as has already been said, picked up 2.50 points for being 3rd over in Longchamp. Keeps
you in the top 10 FF and I reckon enough time to reel them in. Best of luck.

Some very good racing over the weekend at Newmarket but there’s no doubt the fields will thin out
so no point in making any decisions yet.

Everyone having a bet or not enjoy the weekend and best of luck :good:

    Week 18

Not too many managed to get a winner, but Jac (Triptych) had a
cracker ( she also made a fair whack off the bookies :good: )
with Lake Victoria in the Cheveley Park Stakes which added a
significant 28.90 points. It keeps Jac in 9th place but closing
in on those above. Top scorer of the week, well done Jac :yahoo:

There weren’t more than single figure scores, and few of those
at that. MickeyJP (Aiden And Abetting) had the runner up in Jac’s
race, Whistlejacket so 1.10 points added there along with Bourne
Losers who also gets 1.10 points. Both stay in their original spots,
    6th and 11th respectivly.

Edantony managed to pick up 2.50 points with Emily Upjohn who was
3rd over at Longchamp in the Prix Vermeille and managed to run a
decent race behind Bluestocking who might just be going for the Arc

The last of the scorers was Bobby (To Madeira) who had McDuff who
came in 3rd in the Foundation Stakes on Friday at Goodwood and
picked up 1.90 points and as I continually say, they all can be
important after the final hurdle (except they would have to jump
and this is the flat so I’m just havering on and talking a lot
of bilge as usual  )

This Saturday has the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket with a
2 or 3 horses which will be of interest to some of the league
    Stables.

There would be some of interest in the Maiden Stakes, particularly
Naval Command but I doubt he and a few other Godolphin horses are
likely to miss Newmarket. I hope NC is well as I’ve got a bet on
him, at a very decent price, in the Futurity Stakes at the end of
the month, he dodged his last race so he’s still a bit iffy, hence
the 66/1 on offer. worth a crack I thought.

Ascot has a couple of Group 3s, I can’t see past Al Aasy in the
Cumberland Lodge Stakes. I’m not really a short priced backer
but I think the 9/4 might look quite good at 2.25 on Saturday
    at Ascot.

The big interest comes on Sunday with the Prix d L’Arc de Triomphe.
I don’t think weve got anything like Enable, who I was partcularly
keen on , who won it twice or even Ace Impact who looked the part
last year. I’m going for a bit of an outsider, Continuous. He won
over a very short 1m2f for him at the Curragh, being a St Leger winner,
but he won it in a very fast time, so he has plenty of speed and with
the conditions being very soft, they will still go off like scalded cats,
so with him being able to handle 14f will be important. He ran in the race
last year and Ryan Moore was basically stuck on the rails until he got a
late run. He was finishing really well but all too late. Even so he was
only 3.5L in 5th behind Ace Impact. I think that is pretty good form and
    33/1 is overpriced.

Plenty of decent horses running at Longchamp which the league will be
interested in. Good luck whatever you go for :good:

As BigG says there are plenty of horses running for all this weekend.

However when Kyprios wins today I’ll immediately drop down 2 places!!

He is some horse threenaps, won the last 5 in a row. I can’t
see him getting beat either, although stranger things have
happened. Still a little hope, but just a little

A mega quick run down, seeing as we only have this weekend and
next week. And Mickey, sincere apologies for getting Nathan
mixed up with your Aiden and Abbeting. No idea how I got that
    one mixed up

Well it’s not unheard of in this competition and It’s the man
himself, John Gooch, that gets back into the pole position
with a week to go. Bluestocking did him no harm at all.
One week to hang on there John :good:

Los Angeles keeps Sam D (Money for Nothing) within striking
distance and it’s going to be going down to the wire. Best
    of luck Sam

Neil keeps in the top 3 despite only picking up a couple of
points with Inspiral in the Sun Charriot. A good week is needed
neil (Neil’s flat out) to try and catch the front 2. Best of luck
    to you too.

Okay I’m going to cut it short there or I’m going to miss today’s
racing. A final best wishes to all in the final week :good:

Good Morning to everyone – I hope that you are all well and
    staying safe.

Saturday sees the end of another Flat competition and after
that Thursday October 31st 2024 is the opening of the Jumps
    Competition.

This is the first day for entries to be made on line with I
think the competition starting at Cheltenham on Saturday
    November 16th 2024.

So about 5 weeks to get our lists ready for another winter.
In the meantime Saturday November 2nd 2024 is the start of
The Racing Forum 10 Horses To Follow competition.
My Lucky Pin and Crystal Ball are going to be busy in preparing
    my entries.

Good Luck to all of you. :good: :bye:

It has that Mickey, the years seem to fly by quicker when you’re
getting a bit long in the tooth lol.

There has been some speculation that the new Jumps season competition
is now open. It says “and we’re off, the season is now finished (2023)
thanks for playing”. So it’s not up and running yet. I’ll keep an eye
and when it’s available I’ll start a new jumps league. I had a long
confab with a bot, most interesting but completely useless. It kept
giving me dates for the 22/23 competition and wishing me good luck

Last week of the flat so let’s see how that plays out first. It’s
    very tight at the top.

Further to above, it states in the rules”The Tote Ten to Follow competition
for the national Hunt season opens on Tuesday 31st October, with a deadline
of 11am on Saturday 18th November to enter your stables”. Just in case anyone
didn’t notice it it also states that the competition finishes on Grand National
day “2024” so it is giving info on the last jumps competitiom.

Probably it will open for Jumps Stables around the same time. I’ve got
my ear to the ground :good:

This is as close as it gets but the winner of the TRF Flat Season Competition is

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: John Gooch (Numpty Plays The Flat) :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

It’s about time John that you got some of your own money back. You held on to that top spot
and deserved to be the winner. I’ll get in touch with you on PM about getting your 50 smackers :good:

Sam (Money for Nothing) you were within a whisker of pulling it back after Kyprios. It was all
down to Los Angeles getting something for you but he wasn’t up to the mark today. Terrific challenge
Sam just coming up less than 5 points behind. Hard luck but very well played mate :good:

Mike (Man Superstars) is never far away in these, a double winner, He made a valient effort
to haul John and Sam in with a valuable double on the last day with Kyprios and Charym, worth
78.11 points. Not enough to catch John and Sam, but enough to oust Neil (Neil’s Flat Out) from
the last podium place. Well done Mike for getting that 3rd spot on the podium. :good:

I’ll leave it at that and post the league scores from the Tote site below.

Well done and many thanks to everyone who took part in the Competition. The jumps will be starting
shortly, I’m just waiting for them to open the competition so I can get a league started. Hopefully
we can get 20 or over this time so that the 2nd prize £25 comes into play. I think we are likely to
get that as the jumps seems to be a more popular competition.

Best of luck and see you all there :good:

:yahoo: Well done John :yahoo: you must have a big smile on your face this morning. It’s about time you won something like this you’ve been knocking on the door several times..brilliantly played with both Kyprios and Charyn coming home for you yesterday. 🏆🏆 :yahoo:

Well played also to both Sam and Mike for getting on the podium.

Big thanks to Graham (BigG) for running this and for all his time and effort keeping us all updated throughout as only he knows how. It’s been a tough year and once again Graham has delivered .. :rose:

Look forward to the next one, where I can honestly say I haven’t a clue who will be in My Stable…better get studying everyone because I bet John has his lined up already. :mail:

Thanks for that Sam, John has been a big part of sponsering it too. I’ll got onto it
on Wednesday and get a new league started. I’ll just stick any 10 in as I can change
them before the off. I reckon we will get 20 or more stables so we can have a 2nd place
prize again. I think the jumps are more popular.

    Cheers
    Graham
