hi mates!in recent weeks,i spotted a new young guy,who rides very well IMO.he has a brain,is very strong in a finish, and most important:they jump very well for him!!there might be not too much good from the netherlands(just kidding!!),but this one is definitely a good one.he is in good hands,as the smithes are very competent in seeing talent, proven often enough in the past,so i think, theres every chance,he will made a great career.i will support him in the future.what do you think about it?good luck today,
andy
November 11, 2008 at 14:32 #189175Hi Andy, yes quite agree i thought he gave sunny brook a cracking ride on friday, he’s also rode some moderate horses into places when looked beaten, with a bit more race experience who knows? cheers

oh yes, that was very good!i backed that one too.i can see the horse in the first race at sedgefield running a big race, what do you think?
November 11, 2008 at 17:59 #189197I hadn’t really thought of Tjade Collier as a star of the future, more a jockey who is well on the way to establishing himself amongst the top jockeys, certainly one of the best young jumps jockeys on the scene. He’s still claiming 3lbs but from what I’ve seen his ability belies his claiming status.
November 11, 2008 at 18:24 #189200Ditto, Rob – from a purely semantic sense, I’d be inclined to regard Ryan Mania and Rhys Flint as future stars rather than Tjade, who as you say has been around a bit longer. That’s not to decry his talents, of course, which I agree are plentiful.

Tjade isn’t my idea of a future star personally but there is no doubt he will become a solid performer.
November 11, 2008 at 18:44 #189208Tjade rode Smoothly Does It for us at Wetherby nearly 2 years ago now. He gave it a peach of a ride, followed instructions to the letter, got off it and gave a good assessment of how he felt the horse had performed. I’d certainly have no qualms with using him again.

November 11, 2008 at 19:54 #189220I always back him when he’s riding for S Smith on heavy/soft ground at one of the northern courses especially in small fields. He rides older horses in handicaps very well, always try’s to win by a small margin instead of 27l that the handicapper wants. He seems to be a fairly honest jockey to me, rides out to the finish and doesnt make to many mistakes. Would be interesting to see if he is still as good without the 3lb claim.

Cheers hadn’t spotted that. I’ve no longer a share but he’s still owned by some of the old shareholders so I’ll be cheering him on. All this rain will certainly help but he looks high enough in the weights to me.

I think Tjade Collier will graduate into a sound, reliable, no nonsense professional akin to Moloney and Fehily without scaling the McCoyesque heights promised by Coleman and Doyle
