Il Etait Temps 11-10
November 14, 2025 at 18:25 #1744522Not often I agree with Mike but I don’t see him getting beat , have i mentioned I reckon this could be the best Champion Chase in 20 odd years … I have and it may well be
November 14, 2025 at 18:27 #1744524HDLG – you do realise this isn’t the Champion Chase thread, right? 😉
Also – there’s nothing clever about tipping an 11-10 favourite. 😜
November 14, 2025 at 18:32 #1744530I am and it is smart , I reckon Marine Nationale is the best NH horse in training however I reckon IET will give him a right race come March , add in Sir Gino and you have one of the most competitive Champions in years
November 14, 2025 at 18:35 #1744532Agree with you that the 2026 Champion Chase could be a cracker. I was there when Remittance Man beat Katabatic and Waterloo Boy in 1992 – this year’s renewal could be as good as that one.
November 14, 2025 at 18:39 #1744534If they bring Il est Francais back in distance aka One Man then it’ll be near pornographic…
November 14, 2025 at 18:40 #1744535Hung like a.. gelding? 🤔
November 14, 2025 at 18:52 #1744539Marine Nationale won’t be ready for tomorrow’s Fortria Chase and I realise this is not the “Fortria Chase 2025” thread.
For the Tingle Creek I wonder if IEF is already considered for this race. The horse has no entries for the next “48 hours at Auteuil” meeting. Why not go the Tingle Creek route? Only three horses priced up with oddschecker so far.November 14, 2025 at 19:22 #1744540Il Est Francais’s trainer eyeing up the Ladbrokes 1965 Chase at Ascot (2 miles 5) next.
November 14, 2025 at 19:54 #1744548Marines price tell you tomorrow in mearly a pipe opener , that’s a nice start for IEF Mike
November 15, 2025 at 06:03 #1744584Wouldn’t be surprised if Sir Gino went Champion Hurdle if he were to make it back later in the season, particularly if Constitution Hill isn’t the force he was. He’s still only 5 so time on his side for Champion Chasing next season and beyond.
November 17, 2025 at 12:26 #1744925Il Etait Temps may win here but there is no appeal in backing an 11/10 chance three weeks before the race. Especially an 11/10 chance trained by Mullins, given how much he changes his mind.
As for Cheltenham, IET does not have a good record there, so I would look elsewhere.
November 17, 2025 at 12:28 #1744926Mullins won’t change his mind, this has been the target since Sandown.
November 21, 2025 at 20:57 #1745190Il Etait Temps 11/10 still available… I’m interested and have played… He is 4/7 with plenty of firms and that will be nearer his price on the day
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
November 23, 2025 at 11:58 #1745416L’eau du Sud 5/2
I’m having a small win bet on L’Eau du Sud in this. His trainer is on fire at the moment and he could spring a surprise. Jac

November 26, 2025 at 10:28 #17456072 mile chases are the most fantastic races imo, but every year the champion chase promises to be the race of the festival and without fail the main protagonists either get injured on the morning having their brekkie, drastically underperform or fall and it ends up being a farce with winners such as put the kettle on, politologue, Captain Guinness, dodging bullets etc (when you consider the likes of Min, Douvan, Shiskin, un de sceaux never won one!)
The head to heads we have missed out on are endless.
Back to the TC. Jonbon for me. 4/1. Il Etait Temps needs to back up that celebration chase, and at odds on he’s not for me. Jonbon has put bad runs behind him before, loves sandown and will be much better for second run.
