Entries not on RP yet, but full market up……
Was planning a decent punt on Appreciate It here, but he’s not in, so feel ahead already
Second choice was always going to be Nick Rockett, but he’s no been missed, and heads the market. Strong fancy, but not tempted yet at best price 7’s
Elsewhere, Coko Beach a regular of mine, and former winner of this. 25’s is smashing, but I’m suspicious that any run will be with the aim of getting his mark down for The Cross Country.
His stablemate Duffle Coat is also 25’s, and I’m sure that there’s a set plan with him this year. He’s close to being bet, but he was subject what looked like a “fishing entry” at Warwick this week, a meeting where Elliot usually throws a few in to see what mark they’re on in Britain. That just makes me wary that there’s a plan away from Ireland, but that 25’s is fair tempting
No bet yet
Duffle Coat
Nick RockettJanuary 13, 2025 at 10:21 #1717968Yeah Man is one of those I keep eyeing up, but never truly comitting to. This seems a realistic target presumably with Aintree in mind down the line. Not the most exciting price, but his consistency obviously isn’t going unnoticed.
I’m really surprised Macdermot hasn’t kicked on from his Scottish National win. Not badly treated at all, but has shown nothing in his two runs this season. Saving something for down the line (like this?) or trained and peaked for that one day in Ayr? I’m not prepared to give up on him just yet, but I’d be hoping for something more than what we’ve seen.

January 21, 2025 at 07:09 #1718529Where It All Began and Nick Rockett for me. I’ll definitely bet them today if they are amongst the acceptors
January 21, 2025 at 14:05 #1718566Jeff, agree with Where It All Began, and in hindsight, should have taken the 16’s available until a couple of days ago, off his Welsh National run. Wont bet him though, as already got my pair.
As planned Nick Rockett will be main bet, and for all I think this will be a run out for Coko Beach, with March in mind, I will cover him
Spanish Harlem looks very interesting too
Coko Beach 40’s EW 6Pls
Nick Rockett 13-2January 22, 2025 at 03:09 #1718593Did anyone see Duffle coats run at Ayr ….. The words cotton wool spring to mind , there’s a hcap mark being carefully reduced for something down the line
January 22, 2025 at 14:55 #1718603Yeah Man at 11-2 is the boring main bet, with Spanish Harlem the each way selection at 20-1
January 23, 2025 at 09:17 #1718637Got three against the field
Favori De Champdou
Velvet Elvis
MacdermottFDC is v interesting, same age, weight, and rating as last year’s winner.
BlueSky @pghenn.bsky.social

January 23, 2025 at 13:46 #17186573 ew for me:
Grandero Bello- my TTF horse
Favori de Champdou- gets his ground
McDermott- maybe not wanted by the trainer yet…but the man on top likes trying to win this race and has form for failing to contain his competitive spirit to suit the yard
