Nominate a thread of the year on this thread, I’ll then copy and paste the selections up and set up a thread for voting. If at all possible let me know where to find the thread and/or who started it, as that will help in finding the thread.

It’s got to be one of the epic Steve Caution V Gingertipster battles…so many to choose from :)

    My vote would go to………….
    Jonibake – Joni’s Ponies Season 4
    https://theracingforum.co.uk/forums/topic/jonis-ponis-season-4/

    Also well worth a nomination

    Rob North – Norths Notes

Steeplechasing – Is this site in it’s death throes

I’ll go with Steeplechasing’s “Is this site in its death throes”. Got everyone talking, including people who normally just spectate!

I really enjoyed reading apracing’s Memory Lane threads when I was on a coffee break at work or if I had popped into Costa Coffee without a newspaper, I always wondered what might have happened if the Martin Pipe set up hadn’t claimed Comrie and he had stayed with David Elsworth as the horse never went on to great success after the move. Like humans horses have feelings too and maybe he just didn’t take to Mr Pipe and his surroundings…Jac

I really enjoyed reading apracing’s Memory Lane – My First Horse PT1,

    https://theracingforum.co.uk/forums/topic/memory-lane-my-first-horse-pt1/

which got me hooked for those yet to come, which were equally brilliantly
    written.

However, my vote would have to go to Steeplechasing, for his thread “Is This
    Site In It’s Death Throes.

    https://theracingforum.co.uk/forums/topic/is-this-site-in-its-death-throes/

It can’t compete with apracing’s written excellence, but the effect that it had
on the forum made a significant impact and shook it out of it’s lethargic
inactivity. I think the forum benefited greatly from this post.

Couldn’t agree more Big G,a worthy winner of ‘Thread of the year’..My own ‘Steve the drama Queen Caution v Gingerthedicktipster has to be 2nd best though.
Joes words definitely awoke me from my slumber,I confess I was beginning to keep a lot of my legendary foresight to myself having shared unforgettable ones on here for the past 6/7 years. So much so I decided to put up Cue card for the King George albeit in a much more modest way, praising Joe for his ability to notice the horses talents way before anyone whilst I was dreaming First Lieutenant was the best thing since sliced bread!

I’m glad it had you burst back into action TAPK. I wished I had followed your lead
with CUE CARD in the KG. Oh, and you can be as immodest as you like, I’ll be keeping
tabs on what you fancy for the Festival :good:

Norrette’s intriguing photo, not least because many respondents (including me) were so sure of ourselves but so wrong

Norette’s thread was fascinating, Bachelors Hall’s Most aesthetically pleasing Jumpers let me relive many good memories, but AP’s tales of horse ownership and early punting days wins it for me: fine detail, and good stories very well told – it would need to be a collective award though for all his threads, so the rules would need some bending!
