You couldn’t wish to see a better looking horse and he was clearly improving again. So sad. RIP x

Murtagh’s face walking back says it all. We wouldn’t be here only for the horses. RIP Thomas Chippindale

You missed him so much it broke your heart. :(
    Reunited again with your Master.
    RIP Thomas Chippendale.
You couldn’t have paid him a finer tribute than you did by winning today, he prepared you for this race, but this was not how it was supposed to end.
Condolences to Lady Cecil and her dedicated team :(

I am usually quite stoical when any racehorse dies – especially on course. Today was different. I felt a real sense of tragedy, waste, anger, and deep sorrow at the loss of such a fine, majestic thoroughbred losing its life when giving everything to win a horse race.

Things like this just shouldn’t happen. I just feel numbed by it all. :(

I am new to horse racing and it wasnt the best introduction to witness this. Feel very numb to this. Seemed a happy horse. RIP sad not to see you in the winners parade with Lady Cecil.

This shouldnt happen and i didnt like the way the commentators mask over things.

I’ve been away for a few days and have only just pieced together what happened. How awful for everyone concerned. Sad beyond belief.
