They are just about to start building a brand new racing town in Dubai.
Meydan will become a town totally devoted to racing and will have the best track in the world its around 76 million square foot and will have a grandstand 1 kilometre long that will seat between 55-60 thousand race goers.

The track will have state of the art turf and dirt tracks and will become the home of Godolfin and whilst they dont really need it there will be a covered car park for 10,000 cars.

No future plans for Ned Al Sheba but this track is just down the road and will be the home of The Dubai World Cup and when it opens 3 years time they have a $10 million dollar prize for the winner.
(how long did it take to re build Wembley?)

(They recently had a dog show in Dubai which had $42,000 dollars on offer for the best dog in show).

Whist its a fantastic country to visit especially if you like sky scrapers its no good if you fancy an achoholic beverage.
A small can of beer costs £7.00 and a glass of wine was on offer at the Golf Club resturant which cost £36.00.

You will still need someone over here to put bets on for you though as there are no plans for any Tote booths or indeed any room for the ‘bookie chappies’.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought you must be talking about Great Leighs.

After all, with all the time it’s taking, they must be putting in some extra special stuff.
