Wasted, Richard.
Facts don’t mean anything to stupid people.
September 18, 2026 at 10:22 #1775742James O’Brien’s opening soliloquy can often be tedious, but he’s absolutely spot-on this morning and well worth twenty minutes of your time; you can listen back on either YouTube or Global Player.
The attacks on RNLI volunteers – by people so brave that they are afraid to show their faces – are utterly disgusting.
Of course, those who stand to benefit the most from listening to this monologue won’t do so – they think they know everything already.
September 20, 2026 at 00:40 #1775895The RWNJs have gone very quiet recently.
Is that because they are all cancelling their Reform memberships and switching the direct debits to Restore?
Rupert Lowe obviously needs your tenner a month.

September 20, 2026 at 17:28 #1775918I think someone may have asked something similar lately, but if anyone on here does support Reform, can it be explained why?
Is it really, as my some of my friends and family tell me, just as simple as ‘They’ll stop the boats’ None of them can tell me how they’ll stop them though.
This is a serious question, because it’s beyond me why anyone likes those odious people.
So genuinely, is there some logic?September 20, 2026 at 17:43 #1775920There is no logic whatsoever. Just goes to show there is far more odious folk out there than anybody cares to admit to.
September 21, 2026 at 04:19 #1775937You have to remember Farage will do Trump play by play , the boats will keep coming and he’ll tell us they aren’t , then they won’t next week , then it’s fake news …

September 23, 2026 at 16:43 #1776014Surely clamping down on disinformation is a good thing?
Not according to Nige…
“Be in no doubt, there are bots online, they come from Russia, they come from India and elsewhere, that do try to influence our thinking, and that’s not a good piece of news.
But you know what will happen with this government.
Already, he’s said it’s to stop far-right tropes etc.
This will be like George Orwell’s Ministry of Information. This will be used to clamp down on free speech.
And the one lesson I’m learning, as time goes on, whether it’s funding of parties, whether it’s cancelling elections, is never, ever trust this authoritarian government.”
Why would anyone who “never lies” be worried about fact-checking?
September 23, 2026 at 17:59 #1776017Farage keeps telling everybody exactly who he is but sadly plenty of people still aren’t listening.
September 23, 2026 at 18:16 #1776018Posting in this thread as it’s Reform-adjacent.
It goes without saying that the actions of Thomas are abhorrent but this quote struck me:
Gosport local Dave Palmer, 43, was among the protesters. “We don’t want them in the country at all. They get given everything. I work 70 to 80-hour weeks as an air-conditioning engineer. What does the government give me? Nothing,” he said.
Now, a ’70-80 hour week’ is a lot. 10+ hours literally every day or 12+ hours six days a week. I have my doubts (how has he got time to protest midweek?) but let’s take him at his word. Even at minimum wage he’s pushing £50k per year, likely a fair bit more. Yet apparently he still deserves things from the government? He doesn’t get ‘nothing’ course, any more than those arriving on boats get ‘everything’.
Perhaps the people who believe this sort of crap could head to France, throw all their papers away and hitch a lift on a boat to the life of luxury they claim undocumented arrivals enjoy.
September 23, 2026 at 19:46 #1776022That’s what they should have done with Thomas. Deported him first to France and then Syria or some such place.
Doubt they’d have him though.
As regards this Palmer bloke if he pays into a pension maybe he should watch the video Glad posted last week and see what he gets from said government.
September 24, 2026 at 18:06 #1776060Oh dear: the latest YouGov MRP poll has Reform down from a predicted 311 seats this time last year to 123 now.
Are people finally starting to wake up to the grift? And are the ex-Reform supporters going to go back to the Tories or go even further right, to Restore?
September 24, 2026 at 18:23 #1776063Those ex-Reform supporters in those seats are Labour voters.
Listening to Jon Curtice the other week, probably the most informed pollster in the UK; those seats are extremely fickle in nature.Look at Makerfield.
May local elections Reform swept the board; a few weeks later Burnham wins the by-election.Reminds me of c1980, when i first got introduced, by a mate, to some, erm, very down to earth lads, from a very much different suburb to where i grew up.
We got into a politics discussion.
“So who would u vote for?” I said.
“Oh, National Front!” they said.
“What if the NF did not have a candidate?” I replied
“Then it would be Labour!!”September 24, 2026 at 18:27 #1776064To be fair, NF supporters aren’t renowned for their intellect.
Their response speaks volumes: these are normal working people whose racism, unfortunately, takes precedence over everything else.
September 24, 2026 at 18:46 #1776066Well, the NF/Lab point was just a reference to 40+ years ago.
However, the Makerfield reference IS defo relevant to how these marginals (Labour/Reform) are ‘going’ at the mo.September 24, 2026 at 18:48 #1776067It may have been over forty years ago but, as many great writers have shown for the last two thousand years, human nature doesn’t change.
