A massive cyclone is now hitting the coast of Queensland around the Cairns/Townsville area. The eye of the storm is 150km wide. Winds of 270km/ph are expected. Innisfail has already been heavily hit. Our thoughts are with the Aussies and ex-pats in the area.

The brave or foolish individual streaming the footage from Cairns has a sense of humour. He was playing a soundtrack earlier that included "Eye Of The Tiger", "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Thunderstruck".
I’ve heard already that a croc farm that requires 2000 chickens a week to feed its inmates is about to experience a flood 3 metres above its fences. The stock there include some 18ft monsters that will soon be swimming the streets. That lot will take some rounding up!

The small town of Tully has been hit hard by the storm.

Torrential rains in Sydney and Melbourne with the races being called off in Victoria today ( unheard of mid summer ). Bushfires raging in mid west NSW close to the desert. After the rain NSW had temps well into the 40’s ( 100+ for the old folks ) today.
