Hackwood Park, five runners in one race, character bookmakers Gary Wiltshire and Gary Selby present, wonderful.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 6, 2015 at 20:21 #873936Wonder if anyone can get this without resorting to the annuals? Which horse won a couple of points there before becoming a top class chaser under rules in the early 70’s?
April 7, 2015 at 07:08 #874196What percentages were these characters betting to?
April 7, 2015 at 15:57 #874356Now that is a good question.
As at dog meetings, over round percentages are horrendous – especially at first show.
But as any bookie will tell you the “real” over round is based on the prices at which beta are laid and when you are laying a 2/1 shot which winds up 4/6 and wins in cold blood you are inclined to be cautious.
As someone said to me many years ago – “that 2/1 is value and the fact five horses who should be 500/1 are 8/1 doesn’t alter the fact that 2/1 is value.”
