I know it’s obscenely early, but has anyone any thoughts on this as yet?
You pretty much need it to have a chance in the ten-to-follow, so it’s generally worth putting some thought into.
Anybody any idea what Nicholls will aim at it this year?
October 6, 2008 at 21:17 #183797Silverburn’s owners were quite keen on the idea of giving him a run in the Paddy Power.
October 28, 2008 at 18:19 #186872Perhaps now the Breeders’ Cup is out of the way, we can get on to the real business of the jumps season.
I notice that PFN had his stable tour in the Post yesterday (missed it unfortunately), I wonder what he nominated as his no. 1 for the PP?
Noland perhaps? The race is normally won by a classy sort nowadays, so he could be an ideal type for it. Would be great to see the Hales family win it too, following Granit Jack’s untimely departure last year.
Any thoughts?
October 28, 2008 at 18:22 #186874Silverburn off 143. He’s a breathing op over the summer apparently (surprise, surprise!).

I like the look of Pur De Sivola off 138.

Yes, very highly thought of too.
November 3, 2008 at 21:55 #187763My 2 against the field are Maljimar and Ouzbeck. I’d be against the favourite at the price- another P Nicholls inmate who needs to have been significantly improve by a wind op to win- not for me at 4/1.
November 4, 2008 at 00:32 #187795Hello,
Yep, Carvill, I go along with MALJIMAR
regards,
doyley
November 4, 2008 at 01:13 #187801I see David Pipe has given his French import Piraya some fancy entries.
He might struggle to make the cut in the Paddy Power, but they clearly think a lot of him.

Well spotted sir ~ he’s certainly a conundrum.
November 5, 2008 at 17:59 #188158Anyone know when the weights are published?
November 5, 2008 at 19:27 #188164Someone said it would be today and the sportinglife have some news on the weights but I can’t actually see the weights either on the SP or RP sites. I know Barbers Shop has 10:6.

There are some given in the comments here but if I try to click on
‘click here for advanced Paddy Power Racecard’, just above the story, it doesn’t appear to work?November 5, 2008 at 20:44 #188171Well that’s clever as it is under Big Race Entries on the SL sort………………….
November 5, 2008 at 21:26 #188178Weights are here:

The two I’ve backed might be toiling to get a run. Hey – what a shocker!
November 5, 2008 at 22:54 #188184I thought they always said that Cheltenham didn’t suit Monets Garden and they were loathe to run him there [although I suppose his options are limited now] and I wouldn’t have thought that connections would want to run Noland after what happened last year. Made a note to myself to watch out for Bible Lord after his last run.
November 5, 2008 at 23:22 #188188Can someone tell me why i’m so lucky is trading at 90?
November 6, 2008 at 00:05 #188195Won two novice chases so wouldn’t think that Pipe would be keen on running him, added to that it’s a big field for a novice to be taking on and the trainer has more obvious candidates for the race.
