Hello there
darrell
Good to see the Majestic up on the board again. As you know I have had a huge amount of fun with it and "my" rules changed quite a bit along the way and re-reading the original rules reminds me of just how much.
What I will do, once I have calmed down from
"old windy’s"
insults and jibes is check out just how much I changed it and post them for you to check, even if for fun only.
I will watch with a lot of interest.
Toodle loo.

November 3, 2011 at 09:57 #375757There are no bets at the main meeting of the day, so i would recommend a no bet day today.
But ther are two selections running at both allweather tracks today. It would be great to see how your daily mail handicap version of the majestic does compared with the orignal majestic billion.
Best wishes
Daz.

I no longer take "The Daily Depression" but can tell you it did well.
I must say I loved The Majestic concept and have had a huge amount of fun with and it has lent itself to all kinds of variations.
The Betting Forecast
say 1.2 or 3 in the tissue, it can be up to the player.
Distance winner
a real must for me, it proves the selection has done it before.
Ratings
Choose one you are familiar with. Formcast was good for me but so was RPR when the latest 3 all improved.
Race selection
I agree Non Handicaps are perhaps more reliable but better prices can be had with Handicaps, i think runner numbers are perhaps more important with a max.of 10 or 12. I never restricted to the main meeting rather selected Class 1.2.3.4 not 5 or 6, apprentiice/amateur etc.
A massive amount can come down to how the individual likes to play, for instance if I had a selection with an apprentice in the plate I chose to swerve it altogether.
I think
darrell
you came up with a fantastic concept which is never far from my betting selection but can be played rigidly according to the rules or modified so easily to suit the individual.
IMO (not worh a great deal) but The Majestic is as good as anything to be found on the forum boards and a great starting point for either someone starting out or the experienced better.

November 6, 2011 at 14:51 #376440I’m new here and haven’t looked through all the old postings
but I’ve noticed for the last few days the Majestic winners seem to have been favourites.Does anyone know if this is the case historically, or just a recent coincidence?
*edit*
Sorry, I should clarify that I mean the non-official selections.November 6, 2011 at 18:09 #376470Howdy
shakeshuck
Do you like favourites?
darrell
‘s selections start with 1.2.3 in the forecast and so a lot of winners will be the favourite.
The Majestic IMO as already stated is perhaps one of the best systems ever posted on the boards and again as already stated can be adapted to you very own liking which I feel is its beauty.
If you like favourites the selection process can be started with the forecast fav. only.
If you do not like favourites and want to find one that will take it on, why not start the process by checking 2.3.4 in the forecast.
You may well get fewer winners but perhaps they could be at better prices.

Do you like favourites?
darrell

I’m neither partial nor impartial to favourites, but I do like winners

I can’t find reference to the 1,2,3 in the forecast you mention – is this something that has evolved with the system? Darrell’s notes in a recent post just mention 1,2,3 LTO?
Confused!
