no doubt some firms will go 1st 6 1/5 odds, or I believe all now are 1234 1/4(ante post rules)

Cheers Nwalton- might do half stake now, and half stake nearer the time.

Afaak still needs a few to come out, and having looked at last two years, 97 wouldnt have got in in 2016. But worth a dabble.

Firms aren’t great for offering extra places ante-post, you will likely get first four places only and then maybe the day before the race they may offer 5 or 6 places.

To be honest, if you can get 6 places in a 22 runner race, it’s a good concession really, as you only get 1-2-3 with seven runners less.

Regarding HUMBERT, he is entered up in the Spring Mile (2.25 Race), with Josephine Gordon jocked up. He is number 31 there, so needs nine to come out. There are quite a few not jocked up, so maybe he will squeeze in at the bottom of the weights.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I see Fire Brigade is on The Move in the betting.

Fire Brigade was only ever the odds he was because there was a chance he might not get in. Now that he’s number 21 as it stands he is guaranteed his place. Ryan Moore is jocked up and that’s enough to see him 5/1 in places.

Favourites at short odds seem to have obliged more often since the weights have become compressed and it looks like 9 lbs will cover the field from top to bottom this year, with Lord Glitters likely top of the weights.

    I couldn’t take 5/1 in a race like this.

I saw one book go 5/1 Fire Brigade, 7/1 Addeybb and 7/1 Lord Glitters. That means that those three form almost 42% of the book. Combined the three horses are a shade under 6/4 to win. 6/4 for the three or 4/6 for the other 19 runners combined? What’s the more likely? We don’t even have the draw yet and it’s soft going at the moment at Donny.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I’m still with Lord Glitters all the way here as I posted earlier and hoping he gets in being that his odds have now halved to 7/1..He’ll be fine on the going just got top weight to worry about but he’s the best horse to do the job. :good:

Will look for a possible each way once the draw is decided but too many to look through at the moment….
    The flat is back :yahoo:

Totally agree with a post a few back regarding Escobar. Still needs two to come out but there are a few runners also engaged in the listed mile on the same card with jockeys up. So if Escobar does take up the engagement and gets in 20/1 is a cracking price and will surely be a lot less on the day.

Lord Glitters may not run in the Lincoln according to the trainer:-

Trainer David O’Meara said: “I don’t think running Lord Glitters on bottomless ground carrying joint top weight holds much appeal and it could be he runs in the Listed race, although we’ll make a decision later in the week. He has form on soft ground but I don’t think he wants it too testing.”

Something to consider at 7/1, especially with the trend heavily against the big weights.

The Racing Post have had the pun already with Fire Brigade to hose up but perhaps punters taking 5/1 in a Lincoln may need to summon an Ambulance when they dial 999.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I’ve added Dolphin Vista at 40’s each way. Should have won last year, but was given, and I’m being kind, a not that great a ride. Claimer takes 7lbs off, and though he may not be the most experienced, Meade put similar tactics to good use in The Cambridgeshire, and the price just looks too big to me.

No more for me. I think.

Lahore is out of the Lincoln. I had a feeling that the lack of news and lack of support meant that he may not show up. As I said earlier, it was always the big question as to whether they actually wanted to target the race.

Mitchum Swagger is in there though and has a fine middle draw in stall 11, which gives him options.

Despite David O’Meara moaning about Lord Glitters carrying top-weight on bad ground the horse is in the race, so no excuses about the ground if it doesn’t happen for him.

Prominent ones not in the race are:- Escobar, Third Time Lucky, Zabeel Prince and Afaak.

So only one bullet for me but he’s 16/1 now and I have 33/1, so some consolation.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

    Ballard Down for me.

Nice high draw, will like the ground & presumably he has been kept back for this since bolting up last July.

14s top price now is fair, hopefully get pushed out in the morning and I can go back in again at 16s+

Does anyone know what’s happened with Thundering Blue? He was touted as a horse for this last winter and not seen him mentioned since.

Thundering Blue seems to have disappeared for now. I don’t think the Lincoln was ever his target though.

The trainer said going into the Cambridgeshire that the drop to 9F was a concern. He had won his last three races at 10F and they had a nag as to dropping down a furlong. The way the Cambridgeshire panned out Thundering Blue kept on into 7th without reaching the leaders and I doubt that dropping another furlong for the Lincoln was on the cards.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Well at least Kings Gift has turned up!! 33/1
I have added two others to my AP bet and they are Dark Red who may or may not be well drawn and at 33/1 will be staying on when others have cried enough

The other one I have added is Leader writer at 18/1 and 14/1 who is drawn stands side so at least I have one drawn high!

Good Luck guys :good: I think we may need it!

I’m on Leader Writer too @ 20-1. Very happy with the draw he got.

Backed What’s The Story in Spring Mile too @ 6-1.

    Good luck all.
