Just got back from a weekend near cheltenham and had the pleasure of an evening in there last night. A real treat for any racing fan, its a bit off the beaten track but well worth it if you are in the area.

We called in The Hollow Bottom this summer and it was well worth finding it! Lovely food and very interesting memorabilia (even in the loos!!!)

PS We had our caravan on Cheltenham racecourse and saw the most magnificent rainbow and the Hall of Fame was interesting. Just wish we were allowed to walk round the course.

    Racing daily,

Do you mean The Malt Shovel?

    That’s the one :)
I couldn’t find the one I was thinking of because I was searching under ‘Lambourn’ rather than ‘Upper Lambourn’.
It was quite a while ago that I visited, but it was a nice pub for the enthusiast as I remember it. The other obvious one is The Rutland Arms at HQ, which no racing enthusiast should say they have never had a pint in.

Mr P, I dont think so but to be honest i dont know who she is.

Oh right, Marie Bridgwater is David’s niece. She runs his website and does other PR stuff. In the course of her work for Priceform she once interviewed Prince Philip!

Oh wait, no- it was Philip Prince :)
