The death sentence is too easy – make guys like this suffer with a life sentence which means life with no parole. Let him die alone in jail with no hope. Shipman and West commited suicide because it was the easy way out. ÂÂÂ

October 20, 2006 at 16:40 #103626I don’t agree with the Death Sentence but I do think that if someone is a danger to the Public then Public Safety should be put before the criminals Human Rights .. this problem is getting worse because we have signed up the the EU Human Rights legislation !
October 20, 2006 at 17:13 #103627Mortisha, I was saying NO!! to the original question which was "should the death sentence be brought back".
And I would suggest you have no idea what "type" I am!!;)
You need to calm down, m’dear!

October 20, 2006 at 17:28 #103628I didn’t realise that the death penalty has been the legal sentence for rape any time recently.
Mortisha, all I can say that if I was on a jury and there was a likliehood of the accused being given a death sentence, I would find it very difficult to rid myself of all reasonable doubt.
I hope that goes some way to answering your question.

November 6, 2006 at 19:19 #103629I agree, as much as this guy is a despicable piece of s**t I don’t think you should have the death sentence for rape, even when it’s done to a small child.
The b*****d should be jailed for a very long time, and have his bits cut off, but not the death sentence.
That should be saved for people like Ian Brady and the scum that tortured and murdered those girls in a Reading park.
The reason I think like this is because although the scumbag has harmed the girl both physically and mentally, I imagine she will recover fully and go on to lead a normal life. He hasn’t taken her life from her, and in my opinion that is the most evil thing anyone can do.
Extremely unlikely Ted I’m afraid.
November 7, 2006 at 06:09 #103631I don’t agree with the death penalty at all. It’s legalised murder. Who are we to decide when killing is ‘acceptable’ or justified? Give anyone like that a life sentence. It’s a worse punishment and still means they can’t harm anyone again. Job done.
November 7, 2006 at 20:07 #103632They all taste the same to me.
November 21, 2006 at 23:55 #103633When a victim of murderer gets their life back then fine give the murderer his / her life back. Until such a time as we can do that the punishment does not fit the crime unless the criminal gets the same / equivalent penalty as the victim.
I can’t stand liberal, do-gooding P.C. nonsense and I don’t agree that we have to keep these filth in prisons.
No deterent and no proper justice.
