If both should end up running in same race at Sundown Can’t see it but would love to hear the commentator

April 21, 2025 at 20:15 #1727940A lot simpler than Oli Bell suggested it might be. He thought the BHA would order one of them to change their name

They would just be described as Lossiemouth (GB) & Lossiemouth (FR) during the race. Doubt Richard Hoiles would have a problem.
April 22, 2025 at 11:58 #1727964Remember Vroum Vroum Mag!
If the trainers title is decided by the big chase, Lossiemouth(Fr) is likely to be withdrawn from the following race to save her for Punchestown.
Assuming of course she’s declared to run at the 48hr stage.
April 22, 2025 at 12:00 #1727965It will be like this:

April 24, 2025 at 10:04 #1728134Thanks AP. I checked and it’s the first time I’d noticed the ‘Decs Tracking’ option on the BHA website.
April 24, 2025 at 15:07 #1728152That’s disappointing!
Simon Holt’s suggestion to call the Gundry-trained gelding the “other Lossiemouth” when competing in his home country seems a bit insulting. I prefer using the nationality suffixes, or the colours of the horses could perhaps be used in this instance.

I thought so too. Australia makes incomers change their names even if the Aussie horse with the same name is an absolute rag with no hope of getting within a hundred miles of the Melbourne Cup. I think the names should stay but Lossiemouth GB and Lossiemouth France would have been fine.
