Good points by Wexford but then again, did CB have to know the detail or could he bothered to do so?

Hi folks, long term lurker but apparently in anticpation of his holiday C Byrnes esquire is trying on for a big one today. He’s having some go at the bookies at Naas. His “Rough Terrain” in the 3.25 backed from 20/1 to 2/1 already and his other in the 4.35 “Hashtagg Watt” is 5/2 from 17/2. Described by a correspondent to me “He’s putting the 2 finger up to the Racing Board”….. Mind you if that “Rough Terrain” wins on form he’ll get another 6 months anyway.

If you look at the first leg of his double, you’ll find out that the horses 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the betting according to the Racing Post tissue prices are non-runners…..

Maybe you don’t want to run well handicapped horses against such a hotpot.

Dont Go Yet Change in Going
    Runadrum Coughing
    Junior Rattler Change in Going
    Royal Rhythm Change in Going
    Future Gold Temperature
You No Me Too Well Reserve non-runner

https://twitter.com/TimeformLive/status/1360560446575673349 Now “Good to Soft” from “Soft”. Shouldn’t it be called “yielding” really ?

Oh, thanks for the info. I forgot that NH horses can be unsuited by good to soft ground. If Cheltenham would take place todas they’d also have 25-30% non-runners on the card.

I wonder what Charles Byrnes’s plans are for the next fortnight?

It’s a bit like being convicted for a second time on appeal, yet still released on bail to do as you please for two weeks before surrendering to commence your sentence.

Byrnes was taking the p*ss appealing. The committee was clearly not impressed, ordering he forfeit his deposit and pay costs. I would have given him another month or two for his impertinence!

I couldn’t initially make head nor tail of the write up for a dundalk race last night until I realized it was referring to a new horse for the trainer.
FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy – Last week’s calendar from Horse Racing Ireland had the name No Deterrent registered as the moniker for a Califet four-year-old from Byrnes Bloodstock Limited. To see the same owner’s silks here on Thosedaysaregone, it seems the no deterrent tag is pretty much the way it is in light of the Viking Hoard scandal. Also based in Ballingarry County Limerick William O’Doherty now takes over the handling of Thosedaysaregone, and a prominent showing will hardly surprise anyone. Cases can be built for many of them. Marginal preference is for course winner TOP LINE TOMMY under Derek O’Connor. Beaten favourite last time the step-up in trip might help.

You forgot to say it won with Philip Byrnes riding it.

    I didn’t forget, Father.
    I just didn’t mention it.
I put up the second as an each way selection also.
