Never mind all that b*****ks
about Lennon not handling the track – he’s gonna s**t
e in! :biggrin:Although I like Fair Along I think he has definite weak spots & is a terrible price – I fancy Don’t Push It to give Lennon most to do.

Couldn’t have Fair Along in this, he is only a small horse and purely speed, imo, he will struggle at this level on the likely ground.
MWDZ is a 3 mile horse, and has yet to show the class at this level over 2 miles, hurdles or fences, and will probably struggle whatever the ground.
All of which opens up the race for something at a longer price and maybe Jack The Giant fits the bill.
Typical Henderson preparation in learning his job without being exposed to any sort of test until the Festival, and should act on any ground that comes his way, probably a better bet than either of the market leaders in the circumstances.
March 8, 2007 at 11:08 #44230Jack the Giant was my idea of a good each way alternative, but Henderson is apparently worried about the ground. As with most on here, it’s very hard to get away from the favourite – course form, flawless jumping, weight allowance. Has a horse ever won two races at a festival in both a hurdle and a chase?
March 8, 2007 at 15:28 #44231I cannot see the ground being heavy on Tuesday but surely MWDS will take his chance. Every chance thet Fair Along will burn them off but perhaps twist Magic or Buena Vista have potential as outsiders.

I for one will be roaring the little horse home.
I hope he can do it. I really do – i think he is a top little horse. If he jumps like he did last time at Cheltenham at the Open meeting he will take some stopping.
Big If I guess.
March 8, 2007 at 18:14 #44233at the beginning of the season i posted a thread saying i thought fair along would win the arkle if they went chasing with him, and i was shot down by people saying he doesnt have the size and scope to jump a fence, now he is favourite, and i still think he is the one they all have to beat.
i watched last years triumph last night and he went a serious gallop and nothing could get on terms with him for much of the race and he wasnt stopping coming up the hill.
he jumps for fun, is very clever at his fences, and i cant see him beaten. i also think he will win the county as well!
March 8, 2007 at 22:04 #44234Can’t see passed My Way De Solzen myself.
March 8, 2007 at 22:20 #44235I would imagine Lennon has a serious chance in this one.

I have Fair Along at 20’s for the county hurdle.
I just hope he does not see another horse in the arkle and does not have too hard a race.
March 9, 2007 at 17:53 #44239surely its too short for my way de solzen they will take him off his feet. fair along jumped cheltenham for fun on his chase debut, must take all the beating?
March 9, 2007 at 17:59 #44241My Way De Solzen wants at least two and a half miles. I’ll be in a state of shock if he has the speed to win this even if the race was run on treacle.
March 9, 2007 at 18:09 #44245I don’t think MWDS will be run off his feet, but i think Fair Along has his measure, he has beaten him on soft ground before, so i can’t see the form being turned around.
Having a 2 1/2mile horse in the Arkle is usually a good thing and i know how confident about Another Promise they are, and as i can’t have anything else at the prices i have backed him at a big price and will have an e/w bet on track.
March 10, 2007 at 12:21 #44248The Arkle is different to other 2m novice chases as they go off really quickly and turn it into a stamina test. Maybe this is one of the reasons it is becoming such a good trial for the Gold Cup. Anyway, with the going being soft/heavy, the tough fences and the fast pace I think that MY WAY DE SOLZEN stands out a mile. I’ve been very impressed with Fair Along this season but MWDS has proven class, is proven at the Festival, jumps like a stag, stays all day. As long as Alan King doesn’t have a rush of blood to the head and decide on the Ryanair I make this horse one of the 2 bankers of the meeting with Denman.
