I thought Rod Stewart was OK but nothing more. It all seemed a bit safe and middle of the road, even for the Legends slot.

I saw a couple of songs, his voice is starting to go, and fair enough he is 80. Same issue as Elton John and Axl Rose from recent years that I recall.

Trouble is the demand will always be there for someone who’s been around decades but there comes a time when you have to call it a day.

The Prodigy, that’s how it’s done.

Damn right Richard. Wondered how they’d manage without Keith. Pretty well it seems!

Yes, I’d not seen them perform since he passed away, but thought his absence was dealt with well, and he was clearly very much present in spirit still.

Was the new singer in the band before or is he a replacement for Keith?. Either way he and they were awesome. I started watching Olivia wotsit out of curiosity but thankfully switched over when there was a full on (accidental?) camera shot of her crotch. Which, after Charli wotsits twerking last night just about finished me off. I don’t think I’m a prude but c’mon…there have to be limits…Good job the dog, who doesn’t like loud noises, is on holiday with her dad this week as she wouldn’t have enjoyed it much in the living room tonight.

Isn’t it great that the BBC no longer has a problem with “Smack My Bitch Up”.

Maxim is an original member. They carried on without Flint and they certainly did him proud last night.

Moe, you mentioned Goat, what I assume to be the full performance is on iPlayer. Usually they keep them up for 30 days I believe.

I can’t see it on catchup. They often don’t show bands that are on the lesser stages. Last year I was looking forward to seeing Johnny Flynn but he wasn’t featured. I’m struggling a bit with negotiating it at the moment; last year they had a section for weird and wonderful acts. Maybe it takes a while for all of it to appear. I think that Smack Your Bitch Up was one of the reasons I didn’t listen to Prodigy stuff back then. Having become old and decrepit I’ve now started using the window cleaner that all of my neighbours use and we were both eulogising about Prodigy this afternoon.

Thanks!!! I’ve only just realised that GOAT are very similar ( or are now) to Tinariwen, who I used to like. It does bother me though, seeing someone dancing around on stage barefoot. I always think they’re going to tread on a stray nail or piece of Lego.

That’s that then, and for two years no less. I will try to catch up on a few I missed whilst I can, and The Prodigy may well get another airing.

Always good fun watching along with everyone from afar. I’m going to assume that most here probably won’t be first in the queue for 2027 tickets

Actually watched Olivia Rodriguez last night after realising that Robert Smith sang a couple of songs with her. She was very good and, having Wikipedia’d her she sounds like a pretty decent human being. So shame on me for jumping to conclusions about someone purely on appearance. I’ll be rewatching Myles Smith. And I’ve heard that Neil Young is being shown on Reddit (if I can access that). After that I’ll probably disappear back into my usual folky stuff on Folk on Foot. Good job I didn’t make the effort to go to the Gate to Southwell to see Richard Thompson as he fell, broke his ribs and didn’t make it.

You can access Reddit without an account, although it’s trivially easy to make one if you want. Someone on there has uploaded just about everything that was originally broadcast on the BBC livestreams including The Band That Shall Not Be Named before it was removed. It’s mostly audio but video of some acts is there including Neil Young.

As an aside, I learned from there that The Prodigy self-censor the word ‘bitch’ these days. I had assumed it was at the BBC’s request.

I’m not sure I’ll be allowed out of the Nursing home for a full weekend in 2027 Richard ;-)

I only discovered Reddit the other week because I was trying to work out if I had a carpet beetle infestation and, for some reason it was Reddit that came up with pictures of them. Turned out to be furniture beetle which actually isn’t anywhere near as bad. But it has left me with two large bottles of unwanted carpet beetle killer.Perhaps I’ll use it anyway just to pre empt any future infestations….

You’ve got time on your hands Homer, so get your escape plan
planned and put into action. You’ll need to make sure that you’ll
have an hour on them before they discover that you’re offski :mail:
