What are peoples opinions? Looks like a pretty decent race to be honest. Always been a fan of Soldier Of Fortune so looking his way if he runs. cant find any odds on oddschecker though…

I’d be amazed if both of them lined up…

I would have thought that duke of marmalade would run.

Correct. Soldier of Fortune, Red Rocks and Lucarno don’t run.

Ah shame SoF isnt running. Anyone know what his targets will be? Suprised he hasnt been given a spin. Same goes for Peeping Fawn, seeing has she ran so many times last season and seemed to love it.

SOF is currently second fav for the Coronation Cup at Epsom. Though I would imagine he will go wherever there is cut in the ground.

Sounds as if The Duke will be odds on.

What has immediately caught my attention is the record of both first and second elect in the markets on good-to-firm.

Duke Of Marmalade: 0 from 6

    Finsceal Beo: 3 from 4

The filly did reasonably well off an awfully pedestrian tempo at Nad Al Sheba and clearly is holding Group 1 form this season.

If the 8-11 is not worthy and Arch Rebel can provide a more genuine speed to give every horse a chance, Finsceal Beo could win this.

Your argument is interesting, but given that DOM is only 2-10 overall and arguably his 2 best runs were on fast ground last year (Ascot and Irish Champion) I’m not sure the ground holds too many fears for him.
I agree he’s no bargain at 8/11 and that the filly has a chance but it looks a watching race to me at current prices. Red Rock Canyon is a sh1t, who will run up the ass of anything rated 70-110 but the day he wins I’ll be a loser.

Finsceal Beo wouldn’t stay this trip on a bus, imo.
DOM to win another soft gp1, and as a consequence look a lot better than he actually is.

Well – that’s the serious argument against with Finsceal Beo. I don’t think a Mr. Greeley out of a Royal Academy mare gets 10 furlongs!!!

If the tempo is kept a little more quiet (yes, I have contradicted myself) she could be able to sneak away with a chance but Duke Of Marmalade is probably better than that for now.

This looks a penalty kick for Duke Of Marmalade. On form he’s streets ahead of these and conditions should be perfect, no value though. Arch Rebel looks group 3, Halicarnacisis listed, and a day out for Mooretown Lady. That leaves Red Rocks and Finsceal Beo for the place. For me Finsceal Beo is a group 2 horse who’ll be stretched at 10f especially as the 2 AOB horses can race from the front and at least 1 is likely to. Red Rocks bordered on being a good group 1 horse last year and given how good Ballydoyle have been with their 4yo colts in recent years can be expected to improve.

So a place lay on FB and cover it with a small place bet on BF at a value 4.5 on Red Rock.

That’s Red Rock Canyon my friend. If Red Rocks were running I would not offer the 2-5 about Duke Of Marmalade.
