    Superb by Frankel!

But I don’t think Canford turned up at a first look. Maybe I’m wrong.

The track is the problem now for Canford Cliffs – Come on be serious he was brilliant last year when he beat Rip Van Winkle. I suppose its human nature in disappointment to look for excuses but hey accept it you just been beaten by Pegasus 2.

Yet another horse tries to go the pace with Frankel and is humbled. Richard Hughes said he was off the bridle half way. Trying to make excuses that Rio De La Plata proximity to Canford proved the latter was not at his best today simply don’t wash.

He crumbled under intense pressure like every think else. Even the Catt suggesting that Frankel beat Dubawi Gold roughly the same in the Guineas and the Hannon camp regard Canford in must higher esteem so ran below par, again simply don’t wash. Look at what happened to DB when he tried to the stay on the pace at Ascot, he was slaughtered. Canford has today proved himself vastly superior by only getting beat 5L when chasing the pace.

I have said all along and I’ve been following racing for 40 years, this a truly truly great horse. Next step Juddmonte International and a possible meeting with So You Think, if Frankle settles like today, So You Think will also be blown away.

The Guineas was an atrocious horse race, the field was gash and some of the horses not even ready; at Ascot he just held off Zoffany; all the talk of tactics underlines just why Frankel is not a top miler, who on earth talks about tactics with the great milers of the past and, for example Canford, the present.

He’s a 3yo that’s run 2 ok races against modest opposition, who’s massive stride will make life difficult for him on the track.

Canford Cliffs is quite simply the best miler on the planet, people saying Frankel has this amazing burst yet Canford won a Coventry by 6L on the bridle, fast? Frankel needs 10f on a flat track and will get utterly laughed at here

7/2 canford to win by 1L or less, he’ll be too busy laughing at the young horse to do any more

Oooooops !  , bad call BB …

CC was quite simply trounced and put firmly in his place by a monster racehorse !

Why are there two threads on the race ffs? What with the speed of the site on top of that, I can’t even be arsed now. *pissed off*

Super, super impressive. He made an exceptional horse look 3rd rate.

If a 2000m clash with SYT is on the cards that is mouth watering… Might finally get a decent price over there about SYT ;-)

As the Yanks would say: "That was ******* awesome!"

Truly superb performance from Frankel. OK, Canford maybe ran a bit below par, but for me that horse was taken way out of his comfort zone and was asked questions he simply could not answer.

I know Hannon and Co feel that CC did not give his proper running, but I really do think Frankel has already stamped himself as a "great" and I’m not one for hyperbole (unless re my love life).

History will prove that CC had an impossible task, let alone giving weight!

I just cannot see any horse living with the pace Frankel shows. He looked magnificent today, so powerful, relaxed and professional. Cecil has seen it all but he looked gobsmacked post-race.

I also think 1m 2f no probs at all for Frankel. See you There is a serious horse…but Frankel is freaky.

Over 1 mile I think he would have beaten Sea the Stars IMHO. Further than that…I’m not so sure.

Oh lord aye make loads of them, payouts when right, but can’t abide the fence sitters! Before this race I was looking at holes in Frankel and hardly any in Canford, so happy to call it as it was…hence the bet, to test the outcome. I like it in my face when wrong, but i did think it a shame that Canford was never in it at any stage, hardly a race was it…

worth noting, that no-one was screaming out the 5/2 winning distance bet for Frankel pre-race, so maybe some people need to grow a pair and man up

Interesting concept from Marbine: So You Think V Frankel over 10 furlongs.

Braver man than me if you would put hard cash on SYT to beat a horse on a par with he great Sea BirdII.

Just couldn’t see 2 furlong stopping Frankel the way he won yesterday and So You Think although he does quicken when released from within his own comfort zone, he has looked dreadfully slow and awkward when he has been beaten.

SYT doesn’t change gears quick enough IMO to be any sort of threat to Frankel.?

Frankel easily over a mile a better race would be Canford Cliffs vs So You Think. That’d be really tough to call.

Over ten furlongs it depends how much the extra distance takes off Frankels "peak". Being by Galileo and the way Frankel won over a mile as a two year old I think he’d have won the Derby infact I’m almost sure he would’ve he could’ve run ten pounds (my ratings) below his Sussex form and still won the Derby. I don’t see Frankel running ten pounds below his best over ten furlongs and he’d have to do that in order for So You Think to get upsides unless the Australian horse is better than he has shown so far.
