Sunday could see a proper race in the Royal Bond- maybe both will be Ballymore types, but given it’s 2miles, they could still end up here.

Royal Rendezvous vs Commander Of Fleet.

Both have form with Kalum River, who seems like a decent yard stick. Royal Rendevous beat him by 4 and ½ with Kalum River claiming a conditional 5lb allowance. Commander of Fleet beat him by 6 off level weights.

This race also has Aramon, Choungaya and Quick Grabim, who all faced off last time and finished very close together. Quick Grabim has beaten Easy Game by 10L, Easy Game has beaten Magnium and Choungaya. Magnium and Choungaya have beaten Quick Grabim. Something tells me Quick Graboim didn’t run to form when beaten that day, going by the Easy Game form.

This Royal Bond should tie the novice form in nicely and we should be able to get some sort of a handle on it.

Defi Bleu looked good recently for Gigginstown but this race has come too early for him.

Still no sign of Salseretta, Blackbow, Tornado Flyer or Carefully Selected; and I reckon Gordon might have a few more good ones up his sleeve too.

Tornado Flyer entered on Saturday Vautour!

I reckon Quick Grabim could be overlooked on Sunday, but i do question if he would be classy enough to beat the two big boys!

Took 50/1 about Quick Grabim after his mistake LTO, back into 33’s now. Started the week at 8/1 for the Royal Bond, now into 3/1. As Vautour mentions Quick Grabim has beaten Easy Game by 10L which was form franked by Easy Game in the ‘Monksfield’ Novice Hurdle.

Yeah, Quick Grabim looks a horse alright but you’d worry where he ranks in the pecking order at Willie’s given he had him out in September. Blackbow & Annamix yet to come out and you’d think they will be the two big Mullin’s horses for the Supreme. Tornado Flyer and Carefully Selected not out yet either and you’d think that they would be his 2 main Ballymore hopes. Although it could turn out that Quick Grabim is better than them all. Mullins usually only runs his top class Novices twice before Cheltenham; he’ll get a Maiden into them in the next few weeks and then he has Xmas at Leopardstown, the Delloite & The Moscow Flyer to get them up to speed. If he’s planning on running any of the 4 mentioned above at Xmas in a graded race then they’d need to be getting out this weekend for their Maiden. He may run them all in Maiden’s at Xmas and leave the graded race to the match fit Quick Grabbim. The Moscow Flyer horse is usually his Supreme number 1 horse so I’d expect whoever is going to the Moscow Flier to get out for maiden soon enough

I’m almost disgusted in myself but I caved in a month ago and backed Annamix at 11/1.

Quick Grabim jumped so well on Sunday, but I agree it’s hard to know where he ranks in the WPM pecking order. I agree with you to some extent re how he is being campaigned, although his form would read 1111 baring that mistake at Navan. He’s added a grade 1 (albeit lacking depth), jumped foot perfect last time out and did it all fairly easily. I’m happy I have a big price, but if someone said I could back Annamix now at 8/1 or Quick Grabim at 16/1 it would be the latter all day. We haven’t seen Annamix and although Willie has historically campaigned his leading supreme hopes sparingly, the experience will stand QG in good stead.

I have a shocking record in this race but I still keep trying to convince myself it will change one day. This year’s early penalty has been inflicted on Eldorado Allen. He won very nicely at Sandown from a bunch of horses who have subsequently given the form a solid look. Presumably, he will return for the Tolworth.

I’m looking forward to seeing Battleoverdoyen at Navan today in the first race. He’s was spoken of very highly in the stable tour and won first time out over hurdles. Nothing has really captured my imaginations for the Supreme yet but I’m hoping it could be Battleoverdoyen. He’s currently 14-1 in the ‘win any race’ market with William Hill.

Stilvi, Eldorado Allen has picked up a hip injury- could be a month or out for season according to Tizzard.

CNC, any race might be safest, wouldn’t have through he’d be a 2miler but looks like he could be smart! He was also entered over 2m7 this weekend.

Well, that was impressive from Battleoverdoyen. I’ve gone in on the ‘win any race’ market off the back of that performance.

Trying to tie in the form for the Irish Novice Hurdlers. Battleoverdoyen’s debut today puts him up there with Quick Grabim. Battleoverdoyen beat Momus by 13L who lost to Defi Bleu by 3L and Defi Bleu lost to Easy Game today by 6L who in turn lost to Quick Grabim by 10L.

It’s mixing 2 mile form with 2 and a half mile form but I reckon they’re the best 2 milers that we’ve seen so far. Annamix, Blackbow, D’Lauro, Asterion Forlong & Carefully Selected still not out yet.

Hard to now how Tornado Flyer ties in with the above. He beat Kalum River by 16L. Kalum River was 6L behind Commander of Fleet and Commander of Fleet was beaten 7L by Quick Grabim. That puts Tornado Flyer up with Quick Grabim but it’s not really very convincing because Kalum River could have had an off day against Tornado Flyer.

With so many good horses still to come out it’s still early days in this market

Style of the races is a big factor vautour, dont think it can be calculated atall in that sense, quick grabim likes a sprint at the end so is unlikely to be powering away before the final jump IMO

I actually wasnt that impressed with BOD today, jumped right a couple of times, wouldnt touch him for this yet, not saying he wont get there but id be wanting bigger than 20/1 IMO

At this stage id rather quickgrabim than BOD, christmas should be informative! Still like the look of royal rendezvous for this! But no real opinion yet were id put down some pennies.

I agree with Ham and Battleoverdoyen isn’t bred to be a Supreme winner.

I’d need to see more racecourse evidence before backing a horse like that for the festival, when the preliminaries and occasion are also a factor.

I was very impressed with BOD- but to be honest, he needed to be impressive vs that lot.

I think he’s far more likely to step up in trip. He was entered at the weekend over 2m7 as well, so they aren’t worrying about him staying. They also said having won his bumper, he might be one for a 2m3 bumper, adding more to the fact he will stay well.

One thing i wonder is though, is Elliot on the lookout for a 2miler, he doesn’t seem to have one as yet- there’s a FR horse that’s been entered a few times (name escapes me) and he might well be it. But if not, if they can get this guy to jump slickly and perhaps dictate from the front, they could try him in a Supreme.

Just wouldn’t be the natural choice for him currently.
