I’m not having any lumpy bets but just a few to keep me entertained at work (and God knows I need it there).

1:40 Ascot – 1pt Orpsie Boy -> Has had excuses last two occasions, should be good enough to win but will need a bit of luck. Not a 5/1 shot though.

2:10 Ascot – 1pt ew Road To Love – A bit on and off but hopefully Invasion will be withdrawn and Road To Love can make all and win.

2:40 Ascot – 1pt ew Orientor, 1pt ew Peace Offering – In big handicaps like this i tend to avoid the favourites like the plague as they generally represent bad value – Hinterland, Royal Oath….. It is competitve but both of the selections have the ability to win this if they put their best foot forward. I tend to ignore jockey bookings (can often lead to value anyway) and the claimers on board probably aren’t ideal but at least they keep the weight down. Orientar will have a good go and seems to have found form while Peace Offering is a real 5f specialist and probably didn’t enjoy the firm ground last time.

In the 3:50 I’m tempted by Counting House who doesn’t have the form figures of many of his opponents but is likely to get of the mark sooner rather than later.

4:25 Ascot – 1pt ew Una – Tricky race but had a nice break since last run and should improve again; place prospects

2:50 Newmarket – 1.5pts ew Ahmedy – Looks only real danger to favourite but forecast as 12/1.

4:00 Newmarket – 3pts The King And I – If the fr/c price is right I think this is a steal. Well ahead ratings wise and should have come on for debut (77+) as it ran a race full of promise.

3:25 Newmarket – Bosset – Similar progressive profile to fav but much better price.

4:35 Newmarket – 1pt ew I’m Sparticus – Speculative I know but if the horse still retains his ability he has to win today. Had 2 races to get him fit and its got to give it a good go.

I’ll be having a go at the Ascot and Newmarket placepot too.

    Ascot

    1: 1,8
2: 9,11
3: 4,5,12,18
4: 3,6,16
5: 2,5,10
6: 5,11

Don’t all nick it I’m expecting a good dividend;)

    Newmarket

    1: 14
2: 1,4
3: 2,3,4,5
4: 8
5: 2,3,5,7
6: 3,6,8

    Have fun whatever you back.

    Ran poorly no excuses

2:10 Ascot – 1pt ew Road To Love – A bit on and off but hopefully Invasion will be withdrawn and Road To Love can make all and win.

It did indeed make all and win but not at the f/c price of 6/1. Instead it was a measly 3/1 and I wouldn’t have gone e/w if I’d have known.

The favourite was indeed nowhere but so were my bets. I didn’t think Machinist would have the speed but I knew it put a career best performance last time and should probably have taken the chance but hindsights wonderful.

In the 3:50 I’m tempted by Counting House who doesn’t have the form figures of many of his opponents but is likely to get of the mark sooner rather than later.

I didn’t get a good view of the race at work but it seemed to be a bit boxed in when the pace increased. I’ll look out for it next time and will back it.

4:25 Ascot – 1pt ew Una – Tricky race but had a nice break since last run and should improve again; place prospects

    N/R

2:50 Newmarket – 1.5pts ew Ahmedy – Looks only real danger to favourite but forecast as 12/1.

Placed but I think the RP forecaster was on the booze as it was only 9/2

4:00 Newmarket – 3pts The King And I – If the f/c price is right I think this is a steal. Well ahead ratings wise and should have come on for debut (77+) as it ran a race full of promise.

Irritatingly another N/R. After seeing how the race panned out I’m convinced he would have won easily but if the horse wasn’t right then fair enough.

3:25 Newmarket – 2pts Bosset – Similar progressive profile to fav but much better price.

Won @ 5/2 (f/c 4/1). Again the price was not what i expected but I’m pleased it won.

4:35 Newmarket – 1pt ew I’m Sparticus – Speculative I know but if the horse still retains his ability he has to win today. Had 2 races to get him fit and its got to give it a good go.

Tailed off in the end. Surely one to take on now as it seems to have lsot much of his old ability.

I’ll be having a go at the Ascot and Newmarket placepot too.

    Ascot

    Nowhere near
Don’t all nick it I’m expecting a good dividend

    Newmarket

    1: 14
2: 1,4
3: 2,3,4,5
4: 8
5: 2,3,5,7
6: 3,6,8

Got 12 lines up but only pays £18.:(

    Have fun whatever you back.
