    This is the most devastating news, I only saw him at Newmarket a month ago and was looking forward to him being at the July Cup meeting, he was one of my old favourites that always gave his all in every race.
    I’m going to miss you old friend…RIP Steps :cry: can’t believe this has happened. Love and thoughts to all at Roger Varian’s yard and to his owners for their sad loss.

    Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...

    An admirable horse. Was never going to win one of the worlds great races, but the kind of horse that would be a pleasure to own. A very sad loss.
