Starter didnt bring them back. Klassical Dream nicked 8 lengths. Happy with Flooring Porter only lost by a couple of lengths in the end. Will be different race come March.

Id have flooring porter as the moral winner

And like in the hattons grace the rest of the jockeys should be getting banned for riding non triers

Im not sure id take that view FF its not simply adding 8 lengths on at the end and you have a result, KD looked to have plenty left to me after his last few jumps, possibly idled sliightly and kept some back at the end, it was most certainly a great ride, but for me hed have won regardless. FP wasnt making any ground at the end..

Doubt FP will be as close NTO and by the sounds of mullins, he will be given a decent layoff

I still have a little faith in Ronald Pump, but my ew bet for now is Abacadabras at 33/1

I know that Lisnagar Oscar is a hard one to justify, but he’s a former winner, and I’ve taken the 100-1 ew

Paisley Park e/w at 50/1; placed a bet the other week after the Ascot race. Thought he looked v comfortable, shall we say, finishing 3rd and seemed to have a bit in hand. Has to recapture old form, but worth a punt at long odds for a place.

    Thyme Hill update from trainer…

“He’s come out of Ascot really good. We just think to get him in the best condition possible he’s not a horse who wants too much racing, so he’s better off going straight to Cheltenham.”

I was hoping he would be freshened up for Cheltenham because i felt that, although he ran well at Ascot, the race in France may have left its mark for that race.

Henderson says Champ will run in the Cleeve, so it looks like he is coming here.

That shakes it up a little anyway, better fresh as mullins has stated before, the race last time looked to have been hard and it certainly looks to have left a mark, will hopefully be back to his best come march,

Overreaction pushing him out to 6/1 given the form hes ran to previously, will be backing him tonight if nothing comes to light post race, more than a fair price.

    Don’t do it ham. ;o)

Joking aside, Mullins gave a revealing interview the other day about the horse saying he does nothing at home, never works well, but so far was showing what he can do on the track when sound. So basically you don’t know what you’re gonna get from him in March, its a roll of the dice. With that in mind, and Champ trying to win the race aged 10, I’m happy with my position atm :good:

I’d easily be against Klassical Dream for all i like him as a horse. He won’t get an easy lead and i’d worry about that finishing effort today.

Doesnt have to lead though does he jack?. hes shown this in multiple grade 1 wins, i just feel hes a different horse after a break, will now until march be enough? Maybe not, but assuming hes fine post race 6/1 is a fair price, he still has the best form in the race and has only put up one bad performance over this trip, wouldnt back 2/1, but 6/1 is fine with me should the punchestown version of himself turn up

Hes hardly an inconsistent horse mike hes won 6/9 for mullins and two losses where in a season where he had issues and was put away, so i wouldnt say thats a roll of the dice type of formline

Definitely better fresh IMO, his two most recent wins point to this.

I didn’t say he was inconsistent ham. I am saying its a roll of the dice based on what i actually said. ;o)

Yeah for sure FF i will wait to see if anything comes to light, price wont fluctuate after that regardless anyway, but again im just putting it down to not having recovered from december, hopefully hasnt taken too much out of him today and he can get a break until chelt.
