This thread is called interesting runners and riders, hence I will keep plugging away along those lines. I will just highlight what I find interesting for the time being.
Right that out of the way.
Today at Punchestown at 3.05:is a maiden hurdle. There is a market surrounding the likely outcome.
Scholastic has a mind of his own and should be renamed the Terminator after his demolition of half the field recently. He ran Longclaw close and heads the market.
Still form does not dictate the outcome here as it is not a handicap or a race you use form with any certainty, especially with unraced horses from big stables.
Of the unraced horses Gold Coast has the benefit of the trainer Ellmarie Holden who gets her horses to trackside in good order.
Her strike rate is very progressive.
It would be a “suprise” but a place in this field is not a forlorn hope.
Craic Eile plugged on after leading Scholastic in a race over 1 mile 4 to finish 3rd at 125/1 this trip will suit much more and is another who may run above expectations.
Scholastic a clear winner.
Craic Eile and Gold coast 6th & 7thSeptember 29, 2020 at 12:58 #1503884exactly Sam, there’s enough people out there “tipping” the favourite every race. The world certainly does not need any more of those
September 29, 2020 at 13:35 #1503898Thanks Kendicate.
The last race of the day the Bumper at Sedgefield.
Socialist Agenda has the form of his win recently, franked by the Bee’s Knees at Newton Abbot yesterday.
SA is up against another bumper winner and it is not easy to assess the race merits side by side but he has won two Bumpers months apart.September 29, 2020 at 14:20 #1503903Luca Brasi’s Boy
2.25 Sedgefield
Hidden PTP form uncovered showing two good placed runs.
If fit just might grab a place in this 8 runner race.
Fitness and stable intent always the imponderables.
4th @ 16/1
CloseSeptember 29, 2020 at 15:56 #15039174pm race cork
Misterio in the hands of ct Keane should go close here.
At a price Hee Haw could pop up .
Has not won at the distance since going in at haydock last year.
Nearly thirty pounds under highest mark.
UNPLACEDSeptember 29, 2020 at 16:33 #1503921He knows no fear still has to prove his win over Agitare was no fluke.
He is out of an Australian group 1 winner.
He is in listed company here so it would be a feather in his cap if he could place again.
Cork 4.35
Agitare recently broke his duck.
UnplacedSeptember 29, 2020 at 17:19 #1503922Gladiatorial is a massive drifter in the 5.20.
If the latest are wrong great price winSeptember 29, 2020 at 17:35 #1503927And how wrong they were!!!!!
Gladiatorial 3rd @22/1
I can’t claim a result there as I said “win”.
Place was due to a last fence fall. I hope horse and Jockey are ok.September 29, 2020 at 17:45 #1503928Socialist Agenda is odds on so lil sebastian and bungle brown sugar watching briefs alongside in an interesting contest.
September 29, 2020 at 17:53 #1503930Lil sebastian showed up well for a long way and was well worth the mention but a facile victory for socialist Agenda
Winners note
held up towards rear early stages, then front of mid-division final circuit, travelled powerfully to press leader 3f out, eased to the lead before 2f out, pushed out and kept on impressive-
Lil Sebastian notes
tracked leader, travelled nicely on the inner, pushed along over 2f out, weakened and faded
September 29, 2020 at 20:04 #1503942BALTIC PRINCE
Wolves 2010
Real chance here from near top of handicap if able to replicate old form.
Won recently at chepstow.
Rare visitor here. Won here in 2018 off mark of 77 Young Fallon takes the ride.
Interesting drifter in price although it takes little to move a price on the all weather.September 29, 2020 at 20:19 #1503943BALTIC PRINCE
4th @ 18/1
Good 4th and nice crack at the surface sure to shape well here again in due course after a competitive return here.
Interesting if tried again with apprentice on board.September 30, 2020 at 07:45 #1503957Today’s Bumper Races
4.20 Huntingdon ‘Junior’ Standard Open NH Flat Race 3.5 k
Not much to go on in this junior 3YO contest.
But still a few interesting snippets and straws to clutch at!!
5.15 (Ladies Pro/Am) Flat Race of €9,000.00 4/7-y-o 2m. 100yds. Punchestown
On first analysis difficult to see past
Sam’s Choice put up as a winner here when second to stablemate Gordon’s Jet.5.30 Maiden Open £3,500.00 4/6-y-o 2m. 145yds. Bangor
Glory and Honour
Wide margin winner in points race over 2 mile 4 furlongs (15l) over points fences in February, subsequently tested positive for “prohibited” substance and disqualified (Gastrofeed).
So the proverbial “winner in a maiden”.
Moved to new yard last week and turned out quickly. New stable had four winners in rapid succession 9th-12th September.
ON THE PLATFORM is my idea of one that will go well here. An unlucky loser last time when unseated rider when going through with a big run and leading three out.
Sam Twiston Davies takes the ride and an each way investment at generous odds may pay off if compensation on the flat is the trainers immediate objectiveGreat to see Huntington running again. The track can get very wet.
September 30, 2020 at 10:27 #1503970Kempton a challenging marathon to sink the teeth into tonight
8.30 handicap £5,593.00 3-y-o plus 1m. 7f. 218yds. (Class 6)September 30, 2020 at 12:02 #1504003Black Panther is an alarming drifter in one of the Bumpers 8,s -66/1
Still @ 8s with pp.September 30, 2020 at 12:58 #1504008Sefton Warrior huntington 1 pm
Is an interesting runner ( mastercrafsman. Frankel) in the juvenile hurdle.
Watching brief. Looks the best of these if he can make use of his flat speed at the business end.____________________________________________
Glad of the watching brief! Sefton warrior made early mistakes and was out the back for a long way. Experience will benefit him.
STYLISH MOMENT looked to be coming to hand with his 2nd place and could put the run to good use today in
Punchestown’s 2.25 the race is priced up on current form and he may have slipped under the radar somewhat.September 30, 2020 at 15:28 #1504024Glory and honour and NR now Sam and On the platform still somehow available at 44s.
hope it places at least for you Sam
