Hi Zilzal,
Have you got any selections this week?
I don’t really fancy anything strongly this weekend, but I will be having a treble on Portsmouth, Arsenal and Leicester.

September 29, 2007 at 10:43 #117095Hi Mike
Liverpool look to me like the best vehicle this weekend. I think they’ll be more focused on a result this afternoon (after last week’s disappointment) than next Wednesday’s opposition. I see Wigan have only scored once in the first half this season and that was against Sunderland.
As the selections disappoingly have made a loss to date I will from next week just produce a shortlist from which I make up to three selections with the one I deem best value highlighted.
It seems the basic Soccer "match odds" market is generally very efficient and accurate and there may at best be only one or two matches each week where there is any true value.
I will probably now look to some dutching from the early midweek market and will also look more carefully at the Asian H/c markets.

October 2, 2007 at 18:47 #117656Good luck with your bets Zilzal.
I hope you’re right regarding the Rugby. I did an article on Betfair at the start of the competition and my best best was England to be eliminated at the Quarter Final stage at around 1.86.
Did an article on Man Utd this afternoon and I fancy them strongly tonight, though I would be reluctant to go in to heavy on them too win the whole tournament. AC Milan would be my selection at this stage at around 11.5. They have almost exactly the same squad as last season when they won, so I don’t see why they are 4th or 5th favourites.

October 6, 2007 at 09:43 #118197Liverpool’s performance on Wednesday night was too bad to be true. There was clearly something rotten in the State of Anfield. Let’s hope it remains rotten until after the derby
You don’t have to be much of a Rugby fan to find the idea of Australia losing this afternoon utterly inconceivable. Engand were annihilated by South Africa 36-0 in their first match. Australia were very much SA’s equals in the Trinations earlier in the year. A very average looking England look very much they have been going full throttle in all their World Cup matches and may have been embarassed by Tonga in their last match if the Tongans had passed the ball properly down their backline. Australia look like they have been coasting along in a lower gear. And what is guaranteed to get them into top gear? Beating the Poms, of course.

October 6, 2007 at 12:19 #118218Good luck Zilzal,
Who the hell are Caen?
Totally agree regarding the Rugby, I think Australia are certainties today, but I won’t get involved financially as my heart is with England, despite me predicting that England to be eliminated at the QF stage was a good bet pre-tournament.
In terms of football, well I am taking the kids out today so I won’t get involved until tomorrow where there are 8 Premier League fixtures. My best bet would probably be Man City at around 8/11. They are playing so great stuff at home, whereas Boro are desperate away from home. Boro are also likely to be without Aliadiare, Mido and Tuncay, and to add to their problems, Dong Gook Lee is also doubtful, meaning all the first team strikers are injured
I’ve also said in my article this week (which is mainly about Mido) that I fancy a clean sheet for Man City at around 6/4.
Good luck
Mike
October 6, 2007 at 14:44 #118226Wow,
England win. What a shock, I thought they would get hammered. Proud to be wrong lol.
Mike
October 7, 2007 at 11:40 #118307So Rugby is a funny game too I thought the Aussies had a weakness in the scrum; I didn’t know they were a bunch of sissies. Well Done,England. Your soccer counterparts could do with such guts and character.
Mike
I went with City too even if the value is very skinny. Arsenal are 2-1 up at the moment.
BTW, You don’t know on what channels we can see Serie A matches and highlights these days?
Z
Back Man City V Middlesborough @ 1.66
Lay Chelsea V at Bolton @ 1.76 (Value Bet)Back Arsenal -1.5 (Asian by 2) V Sunderland @ 1.76 (Confidence)[/color:3ejt2uk5]
October 7, 2007 at 15:41 #118352Hi Zilzal,
Seria A matches are shown live on Channel 5 (I think). Had a few beers but will check tomorrow, but I am sure it’s Channel 5, if not, then it could be Bravo lol.
As for Boro, as expected, and predicted, all of their strikers are out injured, they are getting hammered and Man City are looking good for that clean sheet. It’s getting desperate down at the Riverside and we could well be relegation candidates if things don’t change very soon.
Mike
ps: Well done on your CONFIDENT Villa selection – that’s all you need mate, just one confident selection a week, and at the mo, it seems anyone who plays the Boro is a confident selection

October 20, 2007 at 11:48 #120612Good luck Zilzal.
Haven’t got any strong selections but I’ve just backed Everton ht/ft @ 5/1 and to win outright at 5/2 (didn’t shop aroud so maybe bigger).
I’ve had an accumulator on 5 homes in the Premiership;
Arsenal,
Blackburn,
Fulham,
Man City,
West Ham.I’m not brave enough to make a selection on the Rugby. I will be drunk by kick off and will have my England head well and truly on
Mike
October 22, 2007 at 12:46 #120901Hard Luck with that accumulator, Mike. It looks like the Cottagers will be struggling this season. Deepest condolences too on the RWC final too Make sure to send Mr Rolland a Xmas Card!

October 29, 2007 at 13:09 #122110Some nice results for you there Zilzal, well done.
The closest I came was a 4 team accumulator on Birmingham, West Brom, Blackburn and Arrrrgggghh-senal – though to be honest, if Arsenal had of won, I wouldn’t have made a fortune so not too hown hearted.
I think Arsenal are looking tremendous however and I am starting to fancy them strongly for the title. I wrote in a recent article not to back Arsenal until they had played both Liverpool and Man Utd, but to be honest, I am going to go and take some of the 3.9 for them now, as I have a hunch they will beat Man Utd on Sunday and come in to about 3.2, or 3.3.

My Championship selections have been so unprofitable, you would be getting very rich to oppose them everytime. Hopefully, my luck in this division will turn.
Evens about Watford tomorrow night against a poor footballing side like Norwich looks extrememly generous. I wouldn’t pay heed to the Canaries’ draw in a tense derby.
