August 15, 2007 at 10:18 #111389Hi Zilzal,
Well done with Spurs last night, and even more so Man Utd at the weekend. But as you have layed them again tonight, would I be right in thinking you are not a fan lol

I’m an Everton fan, Mikky, but I of course did not let that influence my decision last night – Just that Spurs are a confidence team and they havn’t found it yet this season.
I enjoy watching Man U either slaughtering or being slaughtered

August 16, 2007 at 21:54 #111504Well done on the midweek matches zilzal.
BTW are you using ratings or just honest-to-goodness gut feeling?
August 16, 2007 at 22:11 #111508David
Just gut feelings, some sense of value and a little knowledge/form study.
At the moment for instance, Bolton look a little lost without Sam Allardyce. This weekend’s bets look a bit risky but I beleive there is value in them.My profit target is modest; if I achieve 15% profit on turnover in a month, I’ll be happy.
If anyone else feels like posting selections here, feel free. A little competition makes one more cautious and selective. I probably shouldn’t be selecting any more than three or four on any weekend.

August 16, 2007 at 23:33 #111518Hi Zilzal,
Well done on your midweek selections, very impressive.
You should start showing a profit/loss figure so we can see just how well you are doing. Good luck at the weekend.

August 17, 2007 at 10:53 #111551I’m trying not to look at the football too much cos it ends up as a distraction from the horses but I know deep down it’s not going to work. I’m going to limit myself to trebles in the football this season. So far I’m 0 from 1 (backed Man Utd, Man City, & Chelsea on Wednesday night). I have also backed Spurs at 10/1 (at halftime on Tues night) to finish bottom of the table by end of August (their remaining 2 games are Derby at home and Man Utd away so fingers crossed for this weekend)
Treble w/e 19-Aug-07
Portsmouth WIN vs Bolton
Fulham WIN vs Middlesborough
Newcastle WIN vs Aston VillaBest Price 8.21 with Stan James although, if you have no life, you could back each game individually as they are on one after the other on Saturday. That’s probably what I’ll do!!!
Strike-rate 0% (0 from 1)
Profit -1.00[/color:1c6e4an5]August 18, 2007 at 03:20 #111647I’m backing D. Healy 11/4 to score anytime in my usual useless £5 acca.
K. Doyle 11/4
D. Bent 2/1
O. Martins 9/4

Anyway, back to my own treble for this weekend:
Chelsea to beat Portsmouth
Everton to beat Blackburn
Man Utd to beat SpursBest price 4.18 with Paddy Power
Strike-rate 0% (o from 2)
Profit -2.00[/color:14ruqd6c]August 24, 2007 at 12:53 #112397Motherwell away (they’re actually playing on their home turf) @ 10/11 (Coral) look good value against Gretna.
St. Johnstone, away @ evens (Coral) should have enough about them to beat beat Colin Hendry’s Clyde.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
August 25, 2007 at 11:31 #112466Saturday 25 August 2007
Draw Arsenal v Manchester City
Draw Aston Villa v Fulham
Home Bolton v Reading
Away Everton v Blackburn Rovers
Away West Ham v WiganAugust 25, 2007 at 12:42 #112473Sunderland v Liverpool.
I would have priced this game up with Liverpool at about 1/3 or 2/7.
So at a best price of 4/6, then you all know where my financial profit lies this weekend.
Two minutes gone, and Liverpool could have scored already.
