Living in a jar makes perfect sense for a rare specimen like gamble.
Bravio alea ludo
February 10, 2021 at 13:41 #1522456And living in a car would make probably make perfect sense for me – far from the madding crowd (on public transport).

A lot of gamblers have been found living in cars over the years, but not by choice
February 10, 2021 at 13:53 #1522461Tank you’ve hit a vein,
and in the same vein as
yesterday’s Birthday boy –
and well over fifty years ago
I knew this irritating
guy called Barry Human.
I thought it a lot worse
than my name and used to
annoy him to the point
of mental breakdown with one
constant boilerplate phrase.
and I didn’t tell him once
I told him repeatedly until
the cows came home. For cryin out loud
Why cant you be human.or
Jeepers creepers,
Cant you just be humanor
I’ve told you a thousand times
just try to be humanI often used to check the
obituary columns.February 10, 2021 at 13:59 #1522463I am fortunate enough to be able to make all life decisions by choice.
Being a man of simple tastes assists in that endeavour.
I love driving down the bottom line, but never indulge in it at the expense of personal comfort.

I’d never suggest that you would ever be one of the unfortunates, chief!
February 10, 2021 at 14:12 #1522466I wouldn’t mind even if you did, Tank – no one is infallible.
But when a man is mortgage free, has a motor, a pound in his pocket, and knows where his next delivered takeaway is coming from, contentment is manifest.
Could do without the afternoon racing getting called off, though!

February 10, 2021 at 15:34 #1522475Well he lived all alone in his own little home
With a great big gallon jar
There were bottles too, one for me and you
And he said Hey! There you are
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Get it myself from the mountain stream
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like Jelly Roll
And it stoned meFebruary 10, 2021 at 16:19 #1522481AnonymousInactive- Total Posts 2553
Mr. Morrison was one of the lucky ones – he had a van.
February 10, 2021 at 17:29 #1522494I know it’s a cliche, but I hope it wasn’t a white one.

February 10, 2021 at 23:36 #1522545I am trying to think of a time when I was ever in a van.
I think it was May 1982 when, as a student, it I hitchhiked back from Newmarket on 2,000 Guineas to Warwick university.
It was an eventful journey, involving three different lifts, but the last of them – a friendly bunch of Asian lads who took me from Leicester to the outskirts of Coventry in their van – was the highlight.
The less said about the petrol pump drive off Scousers and the lunatic with a penchant for running over rabbits in the name of myxomatosis euthanasia the better, tbh.
That was a journey back to campus I didn’t forget in a hurry, well, 39 years on, EVER, evidently.

Can’t say I’ve seen that many rabbits on the roads to have had the chance to drive over them, not that I’d want to, in my 50 years as a car driver and biker. Not all that usual to encounter many on the roads?
Mind you, he sounds like a nutter so he might have been taking a direct route over some fields
