2 from 55 in the last 14 days….. A few other horses ran very well in defeat, but her strike-rate isn’t really inspiring. Is she in full charge or just an assistant to the bloke calling the shots?

I would think there’s still something nasty circulating in the yard. Some reasonably well fancied horses ran well before fading – Eskylane, Andy Dufresne, Pats Choice, The Bosses Oscar (the latter beaten when falling) and some others such as Eclair de Beaufeu and Battleoverdoyen made no show at all.

Failing to feel too sorry for the dynamic duo of Figleaf Foster and Deadhorse Elliott but I’m sure they’ll turn it around before too long.

I was about to post something to on the matter along with Joseph O’Brien who is 0 from 38 in the last 14 days.
Does anyone know if either have a virus in the yard. Something must be wrong.
No wonder Mullins and De Bromhead are clearing up.

Joseph has been cold all season long. Apart from hitting the crossbar a few times at Cheltenham, his strike-rate only stands at 11% and the winners/horses ratio is only about 30% compared to the 52% over the past five years. Only six horses have won two or more races this Irish jumps season. Considering how much they cost, the numbers just don’t add up in the end.

No idea why O’Brien bothers with training jumpers. He has no chance of competing with the Mullins/Elliott/De Bromhead trio.

Greenasgrass, I presume it was unintentional, but thank you for making me laugh with the comment about something nasty still circulating in the yard, in response to the question about a bloke who might still be calling the shots.

I wonder how much JOB cares about jumpers any more. When Giggi have wound down completely do you think he’ll go courting new big spending NH owners? He’s got JP but the likes of Jonbon go to Henderson. He has a few Michael Grech horses so perhaps he’ll develop that relationship but I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets rid of the NH horses and concentrates on the flat, maybe targeting more international races.

Joseph already said he’s concentrating mostly on the flat.

Rachael Blackmore hasn’t ridden a winner in over two weeks either, is she carrying a new mutation of Covid? B-)

KevMc it’s maybe De Bromhead strike rate of 3% in last 14 days.

Foster has been sneezing all around the yard spreading a virus. Poor choice by ‘Big Game Hunter’ Gordy.

A c.1,000% difference in stable size between yards taking a very crude 5 yr avg for no. horses ran since May 2016 (previous – 23.6 p/yr v current -261.2 p/yr)

A q re: impact to potential strike rate would intuitively appear valid if assuming the above at face value and the residual impact of Elliotts previous training, in theory, decreased over time while the new trainers impact gradually,in theory, increases

JOB is a much better trainer on the flat for me, seen a lot of his jump very poorly over the years (not that I put this all down to training methods, they got a lot of Galileo’s from Ballydoyle and he’s just a terrible jumps sire). He did have a very good winner at Gowran tonight, as it happens, putting him on 1-40 the last fortnight.

Apparently the nickname originates from when childhood friends couldn’t pronounce her name correctly. I’m none too keen on it either; doesn’t exactly inspire thoughts of health and cleanliness, which are what I’d want to be associated with if training elite equine athletes!

‘Sneezy’s got a Virus’ would make a cracking red-top headline.

The way they’re running Tatling, that might not be too far off the mark
