I’m looking at finding so called 2 horse races when the top two in the market look to have the clear advantage or hopes of winning than the rest of the field and playing them in doubles if at the right prices. So we’ve got 4 horses, 2 in race 1 and 2 in race 2 giving 4 doubles in total. So if 2 win at evens were only breaking even so I think we are going to need odds a bit higher at about 2/1 or so and with losing runs to consider aswell I’m not sure if that will be good enough, any advice on the maths welcome. I’ll go though the process of arriving at selections tomorrow.

Finally a very well done to all that voted our Billion for Poster of the year, didn’t he do well? If your up early Saturday morning tune into the morning line on c4 as Billion will be guest appearing on the show explaining his systems and frocks. I’ve also noticed that Bill’s odds for sports personality of the year have come in to 66/1 good luck with that one Bill and to top it off him and Matron will be performing that thing they do after lights outs on none other than the royal variety show, brilliant, watch that if you dare, I’m still having nightmares after hearing those noises and accidentally turning on the light and catching them celebrating Bill’s triumph.

So here is the selection process as at the moment may need editing but we start here and work with it.

    Racing Post.
Find the selection box for each meeting and note the runners where only 2 horses are named and jot down the number of times they have been named.
Today we are left with……..in order of closest numbers.

1.30 Newbury – All the Aces 8, Destoyer Deployed 5
    12.35 Warwick – Terra Blue 9, Lombardy Boy 2
    3.05 Newbury – Fingal Bay 12, Double Ross 1

Next we pop over to oddschecker and play snap, at the moment we are looking for the selections to be 1 + 2 in the market and better than evens.

Today – 3 odds on chances and Lombardy Boy back in third in the market so no bets, boy I hate snap….!!!

    This sound very interesting

    Nathan

and I wish it every success and will be watching the progress and if it does well I could be shaking a few 50p’s out of Mrs B’s piggy bank.

Also thanks for posting how the selections are processed because it is when ideas are out in the open it can then generate other suggestions.

    :)

P.S. Matron and me could well become the new Jedwood or Ant & Dec, maybe Cannon and Ball or could we be the New Crankies.

I have had a spot of bother finding the RP Selection Box and eventually got there via the Betting tab.

For those who may not be members (RP) there is also a Selection Box at the Betdaq site via Tip Check at the top of the race card.

    Easy

The Betdaq way is easier but not quite the same results. I have played about a little and with the help of non runners and where there is just an "odd man out" have gone the the main two.

Those I shall watch out for today are: –

    Warwick 1.45 Great Reason//Jetnova

    War. 3.50 Swing Bowler

    Won 3/1

    Foundation Man

    2nd

Newbury 2.35 Quotico De Poyans//Rey Nacarado

    Won 3/1

*These 3 races had the better prices

Elcartero – Happy New Year to you :)

Go to RP Betting Site & Click Horse Racing then scroll down until you find the box re: Horse Racing Tips – click the Tips tab and the link to Selection Boxes will be found at the bottom.

    Easy

Oh yes…got it now…actually it’s just the same as the ‘Selections’ tab under each race on the racecards but useful nevertheless.

    .

Knowing you are not afraid of betting two per race and in favour of "Forecasts" I thought you could be interested in

    Nathan

    ‘s idea.

As said I was playing around with the rules via Betdaq etc. and a race I discounted due to

    Nathan

‘s 2/1 min. was the 1.30 Newbury with All the Aces & Destroyer Deployed which provided a small forecast.

Maybe, just maybe if both prices are too small for consideration it could be worthwhile have a small rev. forecast instead.

Better to concentrate on good class handicaps with small fields but that, of course, is just my opinion.

Now that we can all find the "selection box" a whole new world of possibilities has been opened or will it turn out to be yet another of Pandora’s boxes.

With far too much time on my hands yesterday I started to think just how this new "toy" can be utilised especially at a time when the running conditions are "Heavy" etc.

My mind turned to the artificial surfaces as being more congenial than the NH bog.

The thought process being to find a horse tipped by all (or close to all) is a) hard and b) will be very short priced.

So why not try to find a race where there are two outstanding contenders in a smallish field and see what results.

Yesterday at Kempton 5.30 Class 4 Conditions race over 7 furlongs with 9 declared.

Clockmaker had 5 tips and The Rectifier had 4

The Rectifier won 7/2 with Clockmaker 2nd at 9/2 and the f’cast paid £18

    INTERESTING!

I am certainly not advocating anything whatsoever here and posting out of interest only but there may be two races at Wolverhampton today which may be worth noting the results of: –

    4.10 Class 6 5f handicap with 8 declared.
Bitter Lemon 5 tips available at 9/2 BOG

Villa Reigns 4 tips available 4/1 BOG

    5.10 Class 5 6f Claimer with 6 runners declared
Adranian 5 tips available 4/1 BOG

    Won

Faraway 4 tips avalable 7/4 BOG Lost

    Todays hopefuls…… :|

    11.50 Newcastle – Micro Mission 6, Glenora Gale 6
3.00 Newcastle – Mighty Magnus 3, Hole in One 9
    1.35 Sandown – Fire Fighter 3, Soliwery 9

They all beat the odds on requirement so the 2 races tied went to 1.35 Sandown as it was the higher class although I wanted Newcastle which had higher odds, hey-ho…..

    Today’s Doubles £1.00 each, total £4.00 – all bet365 bog

    Micro Mission(

    Micro Mission + Soliwery(

    Glenora Gale(

    Glenora Gale + Soliwery

I’ve decided that after each loss I will put the stake up and return to the start after a win like Bill’s staircase from 123456. This is because if we get any winners the odds will not cover the losers so this staking plan gives us 6 chances to find a winner and should we do that we should still be ahead, I think/hope. :?

If we have 6 losers in a row I will retire the system to Billions bin.

    No winners today.

I have miscounted on the staking plan here..

Adding to the stake each time is still only going to break even on any individual bet depending on odds looking at evens minimum and will not cover previous losses by my reckoning which is a bit of a reality check, I am dumb almost as dumb as Billion.

With this in mind I think a rethink is in order and maybe a closer look at reverse forecasts is the way to go with this.
